Bring it on.

I'd honestly like a story that I haven't read before, something that might surprise me a little bit, but if they think they have to have Frank Miller's Born Again, at least write a new ending to it. As much as I do like the overall story, I never really liked the stuff with Nuke.

And get with it, guys. We aren't getting any damn younger around here.

Based on Slade's credits at imdb, I'm expecting a film that is high on style but lacking in story.

"...a 'continuation' " ???

Oh where is rgj and his annual 'What chance of a new DD movie" poll when you need him?

The only things that have me worried are:

1. It's still in Fox's "creative" hands
2. They supposedly want to do "Born Again"...with no build up
3. Robert Pattinson is rumored for Murdock (probably won't happen)

I love Slade's 'Hard Candy' and '30 Days of Night' is indeed thrilling. So, he may not be Nolan. But I am devil-grinning happy he is directing.

I have nothing against Pattinson but I don't see him as DD. Batman, Spider-Man, and recently Superman are all British now (the actors playing them Very Happy ). So spare DD.

No, to Bradley Cooper as well...

I always thought Matt Bomer would be the perfect Matt Murdock, but he is too pretty for the role. If we are gonna be having 'Born Again', we do not need too pretty.

Chris Pine would be an inspired choice.

First of all that's AWESOME NEWS!!!! Finally some serious talk about a new DD movie!!!
Now... i didn't know who Slade was since this, i havent's seen any of his movies but the only thing that worries me is the Twilight-thing!! Is he a good director or a director who makes movies like Twilight? You know what I mean? Teenage movies... Don't get me wrong i haven't seen Twilight, I don't know if it is actually a good movie but it's Twilight you know? In the end all I want is a good, noir DD movie!!! Not some comedy/kids friendly/easy to the eye movie.
As for the leading role my vote goes to Chris Pine and James Marsden!!!

Out of all the names mentioned I think Chris Pine may be the best. I think a older actor would be better but I just don't see the bradley cooper or Michael C Hall. I picture Matt Murdock with different voice the Hall.

Ridiculous mentions
Joseph Gordon Levitt???
Ryan Gosling??

Crazy

I read this earlier. Cool stuff. I'd be partial to a storyline similar to Yellow. They could summarize his background via that non-linear style of story telling.

DAREDEVIL director David Slade posted some info on Twitter today about the movie:

"Forgot to look at the internet for a few weeks and its a litany of false (and not so far off) rumours."

"So without breaking confidentiality, yes Daredevil, we have a great outline for a very strong character driven take on Mr Matt Murdock."

"It will bare no relation to the previous Daredevil movie in any way. We are at early planning stages and have not yet discussed any cast."

Well I am glad that it will be a fresh start. Let's hope for something better this time around. Maybe Stilt Man could be the villian! Razz Wink

Personally I wouldn't mind them going for an unknown actor to play Matt/Daredevil, like they did with the Superman movie actors and of course the guy who will play Thor. Still maybe Chris Pine could be good, but he would have to bulk up a lot for the part.

I, too, am glad that the internet rumors are false and that we are actually getting a reboot / fresh start.

Presumably that means Born Again won't be used until the second or third film in the new franchise. Which is as it should be. You can't just jump right into Born Again without, for example, having Matt fall for Karen first. A lot of storytelling has to occur before BA, which ideally should be the third film.

Film #1: Origin story. Use MWOF as basis (since afterall MWOF was originally a film script) without the Elektra stuff. Matt dons uniform for the first time at the end of the film, starts a law firm with Foggy and hires Karen.

Film #2: Matt falls for Karen, and his superhero and lawyer careers begin to thrive. Introduce Purple Man and Bullseye as the main villains. At some point, Karen comes under PM's mind control and is almost assaulted, and then later Matt barely saves her from Bullseye. Matt defeats them both, but DD's identity is revealed to Karen, who can't handle it and leaves for California. A sad, Empire Strikes Back type ending.

Film #3: Born Again. As with the story, the film franchise ends with Matt and Karen together and happy. The end.

Wheelie, your trilogy sounds fine, although you're missing a villain in the first movie, and you don't need two in the second.
