Good points, all. For the time being, I'm still thinking Bendis's #26-50 is better, albeit slightly. He broke down Matt/DD, and the superhero in general, in a much more thorough, interesting, and important manner than Miller did.

As much as I love Born Again (I deinitely think it's in the top 10 greatest stories told in the medium), I always felt like it was two different stories:

1) the breakdown and return of DD/Matt

2) ...that silly Nuke stuff.

To this day, I think that the whole Nuke angle really hurt Born Again.

Get to go with "Born again", NMiller accomplished for in those 7 issues, then Bendis did in 24 issues. Miller got straight to the point and gave Matt hope and idealism at the end of Born again. Bendis took forever to get to the point and mainly just Matt tragic event, after tragic event. No contenst, Miller takes this one.

Ok, I will probably re-read Bendis' run more often than Miller's, but Born Again is amazing. Overall I'd take Bendis' Daredevil run, but in putting those two section of work from each writer I had to go with Born Again.

I've not read Born Again, so I will abstain from voting. Though if it appears to be better than #26-#50, then I had better prioritise it on my reading list.

Good topic Forrest, it has certainly got everyone going!

You're cheating yourself on so many levels! Next time you pick up a trade on a slow comic day, make it Born Again. If you don't like it, I'll fly across the Atlantic and personally give you a full refund in either pounds or dollars... heck, make it both! Razz

they are very different from each other and cannot be compared. if you're gonna base it on the pacing of the story, of course you're gonna favor born again. but that is not bendis' fault. it's a question of preference. but if we're talking about the quality of the books both are of the highest.

I think it's best if no one speak to Private until he reads Born Again.

I'm not kidding.

Born Again
Born Again
Born Again
Even though I love the whole Bendis/Maleev run.
Without "Born Again" there would never be "Out" or "Lowlife" or "Hardcore".
Even Bendis had to learn from someone.
