Another mixed bag of a Volume 4 issue for me.
I enjoyed the Purple Man and the Purple Children. Very creepy stuff, and very well rendered by Chris Samnee.
For me, the weakest part of the issue were the scenes with Matt. You would think that after the drubbing he took in the two Original Sin issues that he would think to be more discreet in public about his abilities. I know the cat is out of the bag, but between the shirt he's wearing and his behaviour, it's as though he hasn't learned a thing.
Also, the scene on the boat seemed to take up a lot of pages without adding much.
One more thing -- this is the third consecutive issue without Foggy Nelson. I think, because his situation is so dire, that Waid should do a better job of keeping us apprised with his ongoing condition, and how he's living. Is he just holed up in that secret room behind the law office 24 hours a day, seven days a week? If so, not cool. |

I enjoyed it quite a lot, actually!
The relationship between Matt and Kirsten is really sweet and charming (really good dialogue here) and the art is just fantastic. The purple man parts also really intrigued me. I am curious about where this will be going, since purple man is such an mysterious character and quite underused in the last few years. _________________ Deodorant Cant Fix Ugly. |

Great issue. Everything is definitively better when you add to the book a murderous sexually perverted sociopath. Killgrave should be used more often in the book, he is a great DD villain. |

Best issue by Waid I've read in a while.
voted 4.
Let's hope the whole story will be as good.
(Also, as a bonus, it seems we won't have that whole "we need to have purple man back with a story about a war between killgrave and typhoid mary with DD in the middle, because typhoid would hate a rapist and their powers are similar") |

This issue was good. It was sufficiently dark and has promising start to what will hopefully be a good storyline. I did think that Matt was acting a little cocky. Wearing the DD shirt, the flashback about their money (I know Matt has never been particularly money-minded, as that has been a plot point in the past, but to be so blatantly negligent like that is almost childish). There was also his quip in the car ride, where he said something about never reading books. Are you joking? The man is one of the most respected and accomplished lawyers in the country. I think I remember somewhere in an old issue where it said that his old brownstone had one of the biggest braille law libraries in the world.
Those are minor nitpicks, though. It was a good issue over all. It certainly beats a frog mecha spontaneously jumping out of creek. |

The kids have inherited Killgrave's qualities, but it seems like they are able to mind-control without issuing verbal suggestions.
Any thoughts on that? |
