I have been very impressed with the amount of cons that have popped up in Florida over the past few years, specifically within driving distance of my residence of Orlando.
Since July, I attended Florida Supercon in Miami, Tampa Bay Comic Con in August and Fanboy Expo (also in Tampa) this past weekend and was able to meet some artists and writers who have done great work on my two favorite characters Daredevil and Spider-man.
As I have posted on this site before my quest to get as many sketches and/or signatures from "Daredevil" (and "Amazing Spider-man") Artists and Writers on blank variants in addition to sketches of DD (and Spider-man) villains to my "collection". During the last three cons, I was able to add 8 such sketches and signatures so it was very worthwhile.
Though I did not get any new DD head sketches, I did get two new DD villain sketches. I got a great Lady Bullseye sketch from Clay Mann (who was the artist for the inaugural appearance of that character) and a cool Stilt-Man sketch from one of my favorites Paolo Rivera. As always, I let the artists choose the villain they wish to sketch and they always seem to enjoy the option.
Spider-man villain-wise I added Carnage (Angel Medina) and The Vulture (Bob McLeod) and also received Spidey head sketches from Angel, Al Milgrom and Scott Kolins.
If interested in my progress, and to see the great new sketches, take a look here:
