The Message Board is currently in read-only mode, as the software is now out of date. Several features and pages have been removed. If/When I get time I intend to re-launch the board with updated software.

Talk about an arc that completely gets passed over. Most people go straight from Wake Up to Underboss without even mentioning this one. I didn't even know it was a thing until I was looking to complete my Vol 2 collection.

And it's not like people even list it among the most maligned DD issues like Shadowland, Waid's Monster Mash, Flying Blind or Fall From Grace. Is Bob Gale's effort just really forgettable and that's why no one talks about it?

I think the biggest thing is it's not where the book ended up going. I mean that in every possible way: The one takeaway of the story is Daredevil's identity is safe for years to come (which got erased the next issue), Daredevil was revitalized with a brand new supporting cast (a new secretary, a new investigator, and a possible new love interest) who all vanished immediately after, and the tone was just different both before (Wake Up) and after (Underboss). In fact, it stands out tonally from everything in Volume 2 (Parts of a Hole is warmer, but it's nowhere near that light).

Not sure what to read next? Check out the Book Club for some ideas!

I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!
