Sentry is tied for my favorite character ever (guess who the other is? Very Happy ). So, for me, this year is going to be insane! There's going to be a Jenkins/Romita Jr. Sentry mini (~8 issues). While I'm not a big fan of Romita Jr.'s work, I LOVE Jenkins. Then, the next New Avengers arc will be all about the Sentry. (Check out the covers on www.jinxworld.com, under Bendis News!)

I just spent over $200 to buy two CGC 9.8 copies of the San Diego Comic Con variants of Sentry #1. That might be a mistake if Bendis kills off Sentry. Cool

Anyway, I'm excited!

I'm wavering on whether to buy the TPB of the older Sentry stuff. Give me a good reason and I'll do it today when I stop at the comic store.

I swear to God it's one of the greatest stories in comics! The Sentry is a real character who existed before FF, etc. He has Superman like powers but for some reason, no one remembers him, including himself. The story starts out with the Sentry remembering his super powers, etc. and sensing the return of the Void, perhaps the greatest villian in the Marvel Universe (who people also forgot). Only the Sentry can defeat the Void but he needs the help of the big MU heroes who he used to team-up with, but they don't remember him.
The story provides excellent background about why everyone forgot the Sentry and why they don't remember him now. It's a fantastic story and bringing back Sentry is the best thing Marvel has done since starting Ultimate Spider-man!

BEST FREAKING STORY IN THE WORLD!
well maybe not the best, but it's up there.
it's one of my trades that i have to read atleast 3 or 4 times a year. and that's more than some of my fave DD collections. or even more than my fave Douglas Adams and Peter David books.
VERY good read!

I agree, a great read all around, and Jae Lee's art is just top notch. My question is, how is he being tied into Normal continuity? I am confused as to how this happened.

He was always in normal continuity. Readers somehow thought that because the story completed itself at the end (everyone forgot who the Sentry was) that it wasn't part of continuity. It is. The Sentry exists just has described in the story.

Regarding why people started remembering him, that will probably be explained in the upcoming New Avengers and Sentry comics.

Huh. You learn something new every day. Still, I think it was sort of a fitting end that everyone forgot him again. I'm not quite sure how I feel about having him chillin' out with the X men and New Avengers on a daily basis.

I'm interested only because of the murder issue. How many superheroes have killed people? Not too many.

I'm gettin' it all. Sentry's not my favorite character but the mythology surrounding him sure is interesting enough. I can't wait to see how he's handled.

Read DKR by Miller. No way you can take out a helicopter with a sniper rifle without some deaths resulting. Believe me, I have tried.
