Wednesday is my five year anniversary, and my wife an I are expecting our first child on October 29. We have decided to wait until birth to find out the gender of the child.

Back to your regularly scheduled thread:

Daredevil #88
Ultimates Annual #2

BATMAN #656 - just started reading this. Interesting, and I like the artwork, but I don't know where it's going yet. Nice to see some Bruce Wayne as well as Batman!

DAREDEVIL #88 - 'nuff said.

NEW AVENGERS #23 - who is it concentrating on this time? Iron Man? Should be interesting anyway, the last two issues have been an improvement on the rest of the run, especially recently.

ULTIMATES 2 ANNUAL #2 - I wonder how much of Millar's climax to the main title will be given away...?

Congrats, DD99!

No spoilers? That's funny, Alice!

My list:

JLA #1 - MELTZER!!!!!! Cool

...oh yeah, and Benes is seriously amongst my top five favorite artists right now. This guy might soon be the next Jim Lee.

DD - of course

Batman - Just read Son of the Demon, and it makes that last issue so good! Morrison and Kubert are going to rock this book out of the atmosphere!

Action Philosophers #6 - I LOVE this book!

Astonishing X-Men - Such a solid book! ...I can't believe I'm reading two regular Marvel U X-titles... It's all about Whedon and Brubaker. I'd read a Dazzler/Power Pack ongoing if they wrote it. Razz

Batman and the Mad Monk #1 - might check it out...

Flash #3 - The first time I've bought a Flash title and it has been great!

Painkiller Jane #3 - She gives The Punisher a run for his money. Good stuff!

I recommend reading Son of the Demon. The art is AMAZING and the story is pretty good. It also better explains the end of #655 a little better and take away some of the potentially gimmick feel to that issue.

Is that the one about Ra's Al Ghul and Talia? If so, that's one of the few Batman stories I've read - and that was a few years ago. If so, it makes sense (although I was under the impression that that story was more of a "What If" story - I guess it's in continuity now).

Also, forgot to mention - my store didn't get the new "Fell" issue last week, so I'm hoping to pick that up on Thursday too.

Oh, and huge congratulations DD99!

Congrats DD99x ! I always think the 'no spoiler option' is the best as well Smile

Umm, I'm not picking up any comics this week.

Yep, and I think most people felt it was a Elseworlds/What If sort of story. However, it ended in such a way that it need not be to make sense in regular Batman continuity.

DD #88 is the only loose issue, possibly one of the hardcovers I ordered a few weeks back if anything comes in.

DD #88 - A little break before we get back into it. I'm a sucker for depth and this issue will be all about that.

Batman #656 - I'm glad to be back reading the Bat and Morrison/Kubert appear ready to deliver. A new direction for the character? I certainly like it when things are fresh.

NA #23 - The underlying mystery through the entire run of this book has been Jessica Drew. All of the rest of the characters are pretty clear. Where she's coming from isn't quite clear yet and that's probably why I'm still reading.

USM #99 -The cover alone should tell you things are going down in this issue. This book keeps verging on coming back. Hopefully this time it will follow through.

Ultimates Annual #2 - Last year this was the best of the Annuals. This year it won't have to do much to do it again.

Action Philosophers #6 - These don't come out very often but they are always very good. Highly recommended for anyone who likes more than just superhero books.

Thanks, everyone. The no spoilers comment was quite clever.

Considering this book usually focuses on Western philosophy, I was quite impressed with the Zen issue, in that it didn't come across with a Western bias.

Great book!!! Very Happy

Firstly, well done DD99, hearty congratulations!

Dave, its in, the Image books from last week have come, how dare they delay Fell and Battle Pope!

Have you seen that Sean Phillips will be in doing a signing? Wow, his work on Sleeper rocks, a must read for you.

Cheers.

Hey, congrats to daredevil99x! It's a wonderful thing that you are about to experience.

As for my pick ups. DD #88. Batman #646. And, I may give Heroes For Hire a shot.
