Like the last 2+ years, this was beautifully rendered, nonsensical garbage thrown against the wall with no regard to characters, past history, or logic. I generously gave it a 3/5.

Artwork 5/5
Story 1.5/5

I thought the beginning of the issue was enjoyable but very subdued. The ending was definitely a shock, though.

I have a problem with Elektra defeating Stick in a fight. It also pains me to remember how bad Marvel screwed the personal bond between Daredevil & Spider Man. Matt doesn't know he's Peter Parker ugh.

The thing with Daredevil is it shouldn't take much for him to figure it out. All he has to do is encounter Peter Parker to make the connection. I think it's fair to say that any decision to have Matt learn Spider-Man is Peter Parker should be done by a Spider-Man writer, though.

Although, personally, I'm less invested in the Daredevil/Spider-Man relationship than most. To me, they had occasional interactions prior to Bendis's run and, even during that run, his relationship with Danny Rand and Luke Cage were more prominent (both of whom he revealed his identity to very early after the mind wipe). But Peter Parker was the first to learn his identity (even if the invention of Mike Murdock quickly covered that up) well before Matt learned of his identity, so I'm OK with this current situation for now.

Actually, does anyone know when they officially learned each other's identities? I remember by the time Frank Miller wrote those Spectacular Spider-Man issues that always get included in his Daredevil collections, Peter Parker still didn't know. I have no idea when that actually changed.

According to our fantastic webmaster, Matt and Peter revealed their secret identities to each other in the "Sin-Eater" storyline in Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #109 and #110.

At first this issue is mysterious, because you don't know who's narrating. At the end you find out it's Robert Goldman, or "Goldy". He's appeared before (apparently) as the guy who prosecuted Matt for murder, but this new revelation as his guardian angel is strange to say the least. It seems he may have interfered to allow Kirsten MacDuffie to die here. Time passes, and Matt tells an unseen person that the only person he fears is Goldman. I'm curious to see what they do with this character, even though editor Devin Lewis reveals this to be the kick off of "the final leg" of Chip Zdarksy and Marco Checchetto's saga. I predict that this new volume isn't going to last very long, and that they'll bring on a new number one the second we get a new creative team.

I think this was a good issue. It's framed strangely, because we start in the future with bearded Daredevil, and then we flash back to his tussle with Butch, him failing to prevent a gun murder, him stopping some crime with Spider-Man. These are well done small scenes. Then we get to the Goldman reveal, and we immediately go back to bearded Daredevil talking to someone. And then we get that back-up story with Elektra and Stick. The issue is kind of all over the place.

It's fine, even if it's unfocused. I give it a three out of five.
