White Tiger #1 Bought it on a whim. Didn't really do much for me. It just seemed like a standard superhero comic without much to recommend it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It was just ok. Doubt I'll keep going with the series. 7/10 _________________ "Why should I be frightened of dying?

DD:Father #6 - I doubted if this would actually be in my box to pick up this week, but low and behold the final issue was actually there! After 2 1/2 years, the 5 (stretched to 6) issue mini series comes to an end!
Moon Knight #6 - I've really enjoyed this series thus far and the end of the first arc was no different. Great set up for arc #2.
Cable/Deadpool #34 - Always entertaining...Domino looks to be even more of a recurring character than she has been over the last few issues (after a few issue gap after she popped up around #10 or 11 I think).
Transformers Spotlight: Hot Rod - Yeah, I've still got that 'Transformers are cool' thing going in my head. Especially when it's a G1 character written by Simon Furman. Hot Rod was always one of my favs as a kid so this was a fun look at the character by the man that DEFINES what it means to write the Transformers.
Ended up passing on White Tiger #1...just couldn't pull the trigger on that one... _________________ https://twitter.com/tburnham7

I have picked up the following:
I'm badly behind on comics at the moment, I need to do some serious reading!
ESCAPISTS #5 (OF 6) $2.99 - This is starting to drift into mediocrity, following an excellent start, it is still very different, and you can't help but love the main three protagonists and the Escapist flash-backs etc. I just feel that this is slowly getting worse though, I'm also not sure how it will all get tied up in one issue, I hope that this doesn't have a poor ending, I feel there is too much lef to do.
52 WEEK #28 $2.50 - Not read yet (nor #27 actually!)
CHECKMATE #8 $2.99 - Not read yet
BATTLE POPE #11 (MR) $4.99 - Not read yet
GIRLS #19 (MR) $2.99 - Not read yet
CIVIL WAR #5 (OF 7) $2.99 - Iron Man seems so out of character, if I was a real fan-boy I would rabbit on about him and Reed being written badly, about all the bits of the story that are missing and are clearly in other comics (FF & Amaz. Spidey etc,) without any hints to the non-readers of what has happened etc. Glad that my fave, the Pun, is on the right side, all the pro-reg side can burn for all I care, all my faves are on the anti-reg side, what does that say about the whole "not taking sides" issue? In all seriousness though, little quibbles aside, it is on the first comics I read and I love it!
DAREDEVIL FATHER #6 (OF 6) $2.99 - Not read yet, sorry.
MOON KNIGHT #6 $2.99 - Enjoyed it, but felt that it lacked the WOW oh WOW from the earlier editions. It was still jet black dark, and loved the Khonshu bits in it, a delicious set-up for future stories. Best new title of year? This may take some beating for me.
MOON KNIGHT BLOODY VAR #6 $2.99 - As above.
NEW AVENGERS #25 CW $2.99 - Not read yet .
SQUADRON SUPREME #7 $2.99 - Not read yet.
I didn't get the WHITE TIGER #1 as the art looked poor, any good?
On an aside, the best thing that I've read recently by some way is Deathblow, amazing stuff, dark, black and brooding, love it. I've also read Wisdom, though it was ok, enough for me to read on so Marvel have done enough. Though the writer has blatantly ripped off a famous line from 1970's UK TV drama "The Sweeney", which was "We're The Sweeney son, and we haven't had any dinner!", Wisdom's line "We're MI-13, and we haven't had any breakfast!". _________________ Always Out-Manned, Never Out-Gunned |
