I was just thinking this but when exactly did Foggy learn that Matt was DD? I never read any if not all DD issues before King of Hell's Kitchen, minus Miller and Nocenti works. I know it had to be at least in the past 5 years of DD possibly w/ Matt's own revealing himself to be the new Kingpin and such. I'm guessing it was in Vol. 2 somewhere..but i could be wrong.

wow...that summarization of it makes it seem like a pretty weak story. Hmm. I've never read those issues of DeMatteis, but from the sound of it here around the boards. He wasn't that good of a writer for DD. Chemically and surgically changed into a man...what? A lowpoint in DD I assume?

DeMatteis wrote the worst DD issues ever, hands down! Just awful, awful stuff!!!

...Of course, this is my opinion... Razz

I have a question. Are there any issues worth picking up in Vol. 1, post-Chichester? DeMatteis, Kesel, Kelly? Is any of this stuff worth owning?

Chichester comes back and writes the final issue of volume 1. That's worth picking up. Everything else is crap.

If you liked old school Daredevil in the style of Stan Lee, Roy Thomas, etc., then I recommend the Kesel and Kelly DD.

Also, I highly recommend Daredevil/Deadpool '97 annual. It's a fun story, gives great background into Typhoid Mary, has Deadpool, and goes to correct some of the bullocks in Miller's Man Without Fear and DeMatteis's trash.
