That's it, I'm calling off my wedding.

But seriously, would someone mind cluing in those of us who eschew the rest of the Marvel Universe? When and where did stiltman die?

Merciful Avatar,

Stiltman was taken out by Frank Castle in Punisher War Journal #1. Stilty was trying to be a good guy by bringing in some mob guy that Punny was also going after. His wake is shown in PWJ #4.

I will miss him a little, as he's been around for so long (was it DD #8?) and he's been perhaps the easiest villan to make fun of.

Yet, that guy wasn't the original wearer, that is Wilbur Day.
Day has abandoned his criminal career as the Stilt-Man in the pages of Bendis' run in DD.
That Stilt-man was probably the new one, the one who appeared in the recent Marvel Team-up.

Hey Francesco, it was Wilbur. If you haven't read the Punisher War Journal issue where lots of B and C list villains attend his wake, be sure to check it out.

I had thought Day had retired but I didn't read the MTU where someone new took the suit and identity. What I don't understand is why all those villans showed up for his wake in PWJ #4 if he wasn't someone who had been around for awhile. Francesco, was the new Stiltman someone who had a previous Marvel Universe identity, or a new character who bought or stole the suit?

Whoops, my apologies then.

So it was Wilbur Day. You know, that actually makes me a little sad (well, not really). That guy was sort of "historical" to the DD mythos.
