We can start next week if you like. Maybe we could get a few more folks to join us.
I really want to talk about this issue. I'm a practicing Catholic so this issue brings up a lot of thoughts because I can come at this book from different perspectives- comics fan and religious background. Another week to set the groundwork for the run is good. Everyone ok with an extra week to get rolling? |

Oooooh. I'm in too. BUT I hate Smith's run so very, very much so while I'm happy to weigh in as we go I'm also happy to disappear if anyone feels my what is sure to be constant bashing is too much or annoying.
Anyway, how does this start? Do we just start yakkin'? _________________ JC

It's good to have people who may not be positive (I can't say one way or the other just yet how I'll feel). I've read issue one (my awfully busy week got better at the last second). Should I just post my review or is there some other method? _________________ Matt Murdock's cooler twin brother

I think you should start a new topic. Something like Book Club Week 1 with the issue number and post your review. _________________ JC

I think Foggy's Pal should start it since it's his idea.
If not, I'll start it tomorrow. Although do we want that many threads or is this one fine? _________________ Matt Murdock's cooler twin brother

I could go with one thread per arc or per issue. |

Ooh, per story line seems a good compromise. If Foggy's Pal doesn't respond, I'll start it after work tomorrow. _________________ Matt Murdock's cooler twin brother

OK, for the new thread, go here
I'm letting the first post simmer for a bit and then I'll post my review.
The plan is:
Thread One (10/5-11/23): Guardian Devil (Kevin Smith/Joe Quesada)
Thread Two (11/30-1/11): Parts of a Hole (David Mack/Joe Quesada & David Ross)
Thread Three (1/18-2/8 ): Wake Up (Brian Michael Bendis/David Mack)
We'll play it by ear, but the plan is to continue from there as usual. I just need to confirm people want to do Playing for the Camera since I've heard bad things. _________________ Matt Murdock's cooler twin brother

I think you may have mixed up the dates. I believe those 9's should be 11's or 12's.
I'd love to join your discussion. Unfortunately, I don't own much from volume 2 yet (Parts of a Hole and Lowlife, to be exact.) I might start collecting those in the near future but until then, I won't be able to add much. Would you guys be interesting in getting an outsider's opinion on the discussion from somebody who hasn't actually read the stuff? |
