The Message Board is currently in read-only mode, as the software is now out of date. Several features and pages have been removed. If/When I get time I intend to re-launch the board with updated software.

So about that #102 preview...

Yeah, I'm that good... Cool No, seriously, I was kind of thinking of Matt having to do a repeat of what his father did. Except it wouldn't even be his kid. Although, I wonder if actually having Milla get pregnant would be a possible future scenario. I'm not sure what I'd think about it, but I suppose it's a possibility.

I have to say, that, before the current story began, I thought that maybe it had something to do with Milla being pregnant... Maybe all the talk about Matt's life going to the wringer again, made me think of it, for... what can be worse that have happy expectations (i.e.: one's wife is expecting a child) and then have some super-villain come to shatter them?

Yeah, and who even needs drugs to do it?

LOL. I confess I only drink coffee (the weather's too cold for beer right now)

Though I have to admit that I like that DD is not an outer space kind of superhero. Smile

Agreed on that. I can't imagine Foggy whit a spacesuit.

Even tho', for the record Murdock teamed up with Captain Marvel once... although it was in California, which is nearly another planet.

talking color detectors!

How do they work, exactly? I'm doing a color-measurement course for printing and the colorimeters & densitometers (or spectrodensitometers) are usually quite accurate, whereas you'r etaking a sample from paper, monitor, piece of cloth... or the "temperature" (in Kelvin º ) of the light around you. They are quite versatile and reliable

... I suppose that these color detectors must work with a different technique?

These were small hand-held devices, and maybe they just are quite as consumer reliable as they need to be yet. I'd think they wouldn't be as sophisticated as a true spectrodensitometer.

Being the curious type that I am, I actually went out and did some digging (what did people do before the Internet, I wonder). I really didn't know much about this technology at all, beyond the fact that it existed, and I always assumed that they worked by actually sending out light that was reflected back and then measured by a sensor.

It turns out only the second part is right since they appear to be using whatever ambient light is present. That may be part of the problem since, in an absolute sense, colors vary depending on the light source. However, the human retina corrects for this which means that something like a white paper will seem to be the same color whether we're under fluorescent lighting or out in the sun. On the other hand, if this were the answer to the problem, I'm convinced they would have thought of that already.

Anyway, my digging around did lead me to a consumer survey of these devices and it turns out that there are HUGE differences in reliability between different models, where some actually work quite well. And there were apparently quite a few ways to get them to work better too, such as folding fabric to make it thicker since light coming through will affect the reading. I guess you learn something new every day! Wink

OMG, I didn't notice that at first! Forget all these softcore fantasies, Daredevil is taking on the goshdarn Wrecker!
I mean, this guy comes from the mighty Thor's rogue gallery!
Recycled spidey villains? Who needs them? Very Happy

That would be a close fight, with both of them being irresistible to the opposite sex, but I think that in the end, DD would win.
