Here is an excerpt from Mark Steven Johnson at the WizardUniverse.com site, where he mainly talks about Ghost Rider, but had these things to say about DD2...
JOHNSON: I would just love it. I wish they would. I've
spoken really bluntly on my feelings on the movie, and I
do still love the movie, even with all its flaws. But
Fox, for some reason they have it in their head that
"Elektra" was a sequel to "Daredevil". I'm hoping that
they'll still go ahead with it, or if not they'll give
the rights back to Marvel, who has their own money now
and can do their own thing and do it right. My dream
would be to go back, reboot it and do a "Born Again"
storyline. Maybe a Daredevil: Yellow, or at least a
television series of Daredevil: Yellow, would be awesome.
I think there are so many great stories to tell. Like I
said, unfortunately I think they really thought "Elektra"
would be the sequel, and it wasn't, obviously. That was a
horrible movie. [Laughs] If that movie had done well, I
think the third one would have been that. I'm really
hoping so. I'm sure it will, eventually. I just hope it
doesn't take too long.QUESTION: Will there ever be a "Daredevil
2"?
Lots of cool info today... Daredevil editor Warren Simons (who will be chatting with me very soon for the site) has revealed some excellent news on the Marvel site... There is a Battling Jack mini series on the way, by Carmine Di Giandomenico and Zeb Wells (with some prelim art), and another top secret DD project is on the way. And you can also view John Romita's cover to DD#94!
David Mack has provided DavidMackGuide.com with some layout sketches from his work on Daredevil: Wake Up and Daredevil: Echo Vision Quest... have a look if you're interested...

For the one or two of you who are wondering just what is going on with Daredevil: Target...
From New Joe Fridays at Newsarama:
...to be honest I have no idea when we'll ever see this project finished. Adam Kubert had started doing some work on issue #2 but only really had the opportunity to touch on it slightly because of all of the other work we were giving him here at Marvel. Eventually he went off to DC and DD Target was just something he wouldn't be able to finish before leaving and with no further scripts from Kevin it was completely understandable. So, the current status for the project is that it's dead for now.
If you've never read Incredible Hulk #152 and #153 where Matt/DD defends the Hulk in court, be sure to pick up this week's Hulk #100, which reprints the issues.

Brian Michael Bendis continues his creator interviews at the Wizard site, this time with current DD writer Ed Brubaker!
A highlight: There's a standalone issue that's all going to be told from the point of view of Milla and her relationship with Matt, and John Romita is doing the cover. It's going to be sort of an homage to old romance covers, and we actually got John Romita Sr. to do it.
Daredevil colourist Matt Hollingsworth has agreed to do an interview for the site and here's your chance to submit questions for him. So if you've got questions about Daredevil: Yellow, his work on the Bendis/Maleev run or his return to DD with Ed Brubaker's latest arc, please feel free to post them on the message board in the topic. I'll compile them all and send them to Mr. Hollingsworth. Thanks!

There is an interview with Tito Faraci and Claudo Villa on the comicus.it site that is in Italian. Franceso Previte has kindly translated the interview and passed it along to post here. Here's the link to the original:
After Spider-man: Secret of Glass (with Giorgio Gavazzano), Dead on Arrival (with Claudio Villa) is your second Marvel project. This time around, the spotlight is on Daredevil and Captain America. How did you face the universe of Marvel super heroes this time?Tito Faraci: It is a very different story. More than double the pages of the one with Spider-man. More aligned with the characters' continuity. Developed with a more continuous and effective coordination with the American comics company, and with Panini's staff [Panini is the Italian company who publishes Marvel titles]. The artist's style is a lot different. And so my was job. In Secret of Glass there was some sort of softness. But not in this story. It is a hard, struggled, dramatic tale, as, after all, was imposed by the type of characters featured in it.
In this new graphic novel, we see an old Daredevil foe back to life: the Death-Stalker. How did this start?
Claudio Villa: Since the times of the story with Diabolik, Tito and I still had this desire to tell something together. The rest was made possible thanks to a lucky astral conjunction which made our projects coincide with Panini Comics. will to "seed", "grow" and "harvest" a new "Italian" superhero story [pun on the Italian name of the character of Death-Stalker, dubbed "Il Seminatore di Morte", which translates as "The Death seeder"]. During the frequent reunions to plan the shape and "temperature" of the tale, the idea of using the Death-Stalker came up (to the director Marco M. Lupoi, I think). Maybe this idea was influenced by the fact that, in Tex [Tex is one of the most important and long-running comic titles in Italy], I had worked with another resurrected villain, Mefisto [a Tex villain, not to be confused with Marvel's Mephisto]. Besides an evident specialization in resurrections, it was stimulating to learn about and write such a feared and respected supervillain.
Faraci: I confirm, it was Marco M. Lupoi.s idea. I was very intrigued by the chance of reconnecting with important and traumatic events in Daredevil's life. I have given an internal re-reading of the Death-Stalker, from the inside of the character. I told about the suffering behind evilness. If you were to summarize in a few words the story's fulcrum, which elements would you consider most important?
Villa: The comparison between DD and Cap, certainly not two peas in a pod.
Faraci: A dramatic conflict of interests. And of points of view.Dead on Arrival is the first long story you sign together. How is your way of co-working? Is it different from the one you use for other series, like Brad Barron, Tex or Diabolik [classic Italian comics]?
Villa: The best and most important thing is the nearly continuous dialogue between me and Tito. A dialogue aimed to render every single nuance of the story. Since the beginning, the objective has been to create a work that had to be entirely shared by both of us. This is, on my side, not very different from the spirit I put in working on Tex, but in this case we start from a real friendship between me and Tito, developed well before we first worked together.
Faraci: I'm used to talking a lot with Claudio, and I often ask him some suggestions while I'm writing Tex. We enter into each other's work a lot. Quite a clash of hard heads (his is a lot harder though). Aside from this, to me he is a great artist and a big friend, not necessarily in this order. What did it mean to you to work with some characters who have marked you, first of all, as readers?
Villa: I had the same feelings I already experienced with Tex. It was like a new exam, which I underwent, not without fears and worries, with the desire of seeing what "Claudio the reader" would've asked to "Claudio the artist" to be satisfied. Surely, finding yourself drawing the new American legends gives you lots of adrenaline.
Faraci: It's not the first time for me as well. I too had similar sensations with Tex. Certainly, Daredevil has been the first, the very first comic character I've ever read. It all started from there. I owed him much. And I tried to repay the debt somehow.Dead on Arrival doesn't lack the atmosphere, the rhythm and, most of all, the action. How did you feel in illustrating a "Marvel style" story after years of intensive frequentation of the wild west setting in Tex, the comic book of which you're not only the cover artist, but also one of the prominent authors?
Villa: The most evident thing has been the "rust", in approaching the panel, that I had to shrug off of me. I had to make an effort to manage all the available space in a movable cage, different from the traditional and well known structure commonly used with the Ranger of ours. I'm still telling American tales, anyway. The tale of an America where Colt pistols have left the place to a billy-club and a solid shield, where a yellow shirt and a Stetson have been replaced by tight costumes and mysterious masks, where the grasslands and the rugged landscapes have been substituted by the skyline of an enormous city and the streets full of cars, as are seen by a man leaping agile between the buildings. It was like taking a breath from a mountain top, a dive from a higher cliff. It was like a dream coming true. A dream from which it feels good to wake up, because it leaves you with a memory in your pencil. a memory that fills better the dreams of those who want to keep on dreaming.
Thanks again to Francesco for translating the interview!

Blog@Newsarama has an interesting question about DD... should a 7 year old
child be reading the title?
If anyone could help me out with some art scans... basically I plan to
make a new section devoted to real people who have appeared in Daredevil,
or characters who are obviously based on real people... examples: Jann
Wenner and Uri Geller have appeared in DD, and Stilt-Man (during the
Bendis/Maleev run) looked
like Bendis... if you've got scans and also pics of the real people, that
would be great.
Also, as I'm sure most of you have noticed, I've fallen way behind in
summaries for Volume 2. "Lowlife" has been done and I will post that soon,
and I've already got volunteers for "The Devil in Cell-Block D", "Echo:
Visionquest" and "Decalogue". Please
e-mail if interested in writing a summary for any of the other arcs
that haven't been written up yet. I would prefer a straight summary of the
issues, but if you want to do a summary/review, that's okay.
Thanks, Kuljit.

Press Release from Comic Book Ink:
"We feel incredibly lucky to be hosting this signing in September," said
COMIC BOOK INK's owner, JOHN MUNN, "These two men have are at the top of
their game...and that's saying something. Considering they have already
created memorable stories and beautifully detailed art for the comic
industry's 'Big Two' of MARVEL and DC."
ED BRUBAKER'S work DC COMICS includes such titles as SCENE of the CRIME
and GOTHAM CENTRAL (with Michael Lark), as well as BATMAN, DETECTIVE
COMICS, CATWOMAN and his creater owned SLEEPER. He is currently part of
the creative renaissance at MARVEL COMICS; doing landmark work on THE
UNCANNY X-MEN, CAPTAIN AMERICA and DAREDEVIL (with Michael Lark). His
first creator owned work for Marvel, CRIMINAL, will debut under Marvel's
ICON inprint in October of this year! He is a multiple EISNER and HARVEY
AWARD Nominee. He is also the recepient of the 2000 PRISM AWARD and the
2004 GLAAD MEDIA AWARD...both for his work on CATWOMAN.
MICHAEL LARK'S work speaks for itself. His attention to detail, and
stylistic noir, have earned him the reputation of a favorite with both
industy fans and insiders. It was at DC COMICS where he first honed his
strong narrative style...working on such titles as SCENE of the CRIME and
GOTHAM CENTRAL (both with Ed Brubaker), as well as BATMAN, SUPERMAN, BOOKS
of MAGIC, TERMINAL CITY and THE INVISIBLES. His current work on DAREDEVIL
for MARVEL COMICS (also with Ed Brubaker) has captured the of both the
gritty streets of New York and the grim interiors of prison life.
"The two men are wonderfully grounded in realism," Munn continued, "Their
work is a perfect example of how the comic book industry has
re-established itself with innovative ideas, crafted prose and
groundbreaking visuals. To have them both here for a co-signing is a
testament to the fans who have helped our store become a wonderful
experience for the industry professionals who visit us."
COMIC BOOK INK was established in 2002 with the mission of being clean,
open, inviting and family friendly. Since opening its doors in October of
that year, it has hosted signings by Industry Giants as BRIAN MICHAEL
BENDIS, CLAYTON CRAIN, ROBERT KIRKMAN and ADAM KUBERT. The shop and has
also been nominated for the past two years for the WILL EISNER SPIRIT of
RETAILING AWARD. Their first nomination occured in the shop's first year
of eligibilty. This year brought their second nomination in which they
reached the semi-finalist round out of over 3,000 comic book shops in the
world.
"I still consider us to be a relatively young shop," Munn recognized, "But
we are proud to be part of an incredible community of Comic Book Retailers
in Washington State. We can only consider ourselves to be very fortunate
to host such an incredible signing with both Mr. Brubaker and Mr. Lark!"
ED BRUBAKER and MICHAEL LARK will be signing their books at Tacoma,
Washington's COMIC BOOK INK on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23rd, 2006 from 3:00pm

Former Daredevil colorist Matt Hollingsworth posted this message on the
Bendis boards... he will be coming back to Daredevil starting with issue
89!
Just locked in the deal. I will be returning to Daredevil with issue 89,
after a roughly two year hiatus. I will be the regular colorist again,
this time working with Ed Brubaker, Michael Lark and Stefano Gaudiano,
along with editor Warren Simons.
I previously worked with Ed and Michael on a comic at DC Comics called
Gotham Central that some of you may have read. Since that time, we've all
changed our approach a bit. So, this should be a chance for us to produce
some new stuff that you will all, hopefully, dig. Warren and I also have
worked together before, on Trouble, and I thank him for the chance to
return to one of my favorite gigs ever, Daredevil.
There will be an addition to the Daredevil Vol. 6 hardcover coming in
September. The "What If Karen Page Had Lived?" one shot will now also be
included, according to Brian Michael Bendis in his recent WordBalloon.com
podcast.

Longtime site contributer Russell Lissau sent me this message about an
anthology he's involved with, and Mack and Lark fans will want to pick up
the book as well!
Featuring cover artwork by David Mack (and a pinup by Michael Lark), the
book has more than 30 short stories by more than 80 creators. All have
hurricane or Gulf Coast themes.
I mention this to you because I've written a piece for the book. My story,
PRESSING ON, leads off the anthology. It's a semiautobiographical story
about a reporter in a hurricane-ravaged town, and it's illustrated by G.
Gerald Garcia.
The WWC edition will have a cover price of just 10 bucks and will be
available at the Ronin tables at Wizard World (#3072-3076 in Artists
Alley). Signings and other events are in the works, too.
A regular release for comics shops is planned for the fall. It's debuting
at the convention because the first anniversary of the storm is nearly
upon us, and we figure Katrina will be on people's minds thanks to the
ever-present media and the pending onsalught of ONE YEAR SINCE KATRINA
stories.
We're all very proud of the book, and we hope sales will be strong enough
to really help the people on the Gulf Coast. If you're coming to Wizard
World, please consider stopping by the table and picking up a copy. If
not, keep an eye at your local shop this fall.
More information about HOPE is at Ronin
Studios
Thanks for your interest,

Starting with DD#82, there will be no ongoing series that are part of

details at:
[This is probably going to be a long story...]
On January 16, 1996, this site was started as a way to pass the time
between university classes and a way to learn a new language called
"HTML". I had been collecting comics over ten years at that point.
Daredevil had always been my favourite title. So, I made a pretty basic
page, placing some really poor scans of DD I had (at this point I still
had a hand scanner, so I could only scan small images). And there on my
university server sat my first site.
And then something strange happened... people started writing to me,
telling me that they were glad to see a Daredevil site. So I updated the
site with the latest information. The J.M. DeMatteis storyline was winding
down and soon, Karl Kesel and Cary Nord were going to take over. This
thing called the Internet was taking off.
The day I knew that my site was much bigger than I imagined was when
former DD writer Dan Chichester sent me an e-mail, praising my work and
also telling me some things I had posted that were incorrect about his
stories. An actual DD writer wrote to me. And that's how I began
interviewing DD creators... over the years I've asked them all politely if
they'd be interested, and for the most part, all have been very
accomodating. Without this site, I never would have wrote the DD section
of the Marvel Knights encyclopedia, and I'd never have had the chance to
help out on the Daredevil DVD. I've never taken this luck for granted.
But the most important thing, for me, has always been the interaction I've
had with all the people who've ever passed through or have been a regular
visitor. DD fans are a passionate bunch, and I'm glad I've been able to
help promote this comic, this character, this universe, for all these
years. This is why I keep doing this.
As always, thanks for visiting. And thanks for reading.

In a Civil War article, Ed Brubaker said...
I think Murdock is seen as the example of
what happens to you when your identity becomes public.
In #87, it's going to be revealed who the
other Daredevil is. That's going to be a major plot point
in Civil War, too.
