I don't remember what issue this was in (it's somewhere in the 100's) where Foggy says something like:
"Matt is usually punctual to a fault. Maybe to compensate for his blindness."
Okay, let's set aside the questionable idea that blind people would be unusually punctual and just look at that first sentence. Hmmm... Matt punctual? To a fault no less... Does Foggy even know Matt? Have they ever met? Because we all know how good he is at keeping appointments and showing up on time, right? _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

Why!... of course Matt is punctual to a fault!
He just has that trouble with spicy food every then and now... _________________ Gloria

Here's another Foggy quote from the very first issue:
"We're in business Matt! With your brains and my dad's money, nothing'll stop us!"
Thanks goodness Foggy's self-esteem is at least a little better these days. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers

"And this center point right here... is for when you finally realize that no one cares!!"
Can't believe I was gritting my teeth while writing that. Scary. |

Yeah, that's a great moment right there. There isn't enough forehead carving in comics these days. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

Hey Chris. What does your sig mean? It sounds hot. Especially with the final " ".
"The Jester.
Robbing a bank.
In broad daylight.
Because he's an idiot."

You really want to know? It's not the least bit hot I'm afraid (even though people tend to expect that from Swedish women...). It's more like the ultimate inside joke in that only I know what it means. Here it is:
"Now I'm just going to write something completely random in Swedish just for the fun of it."
Yeah, that's it. Sorry. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

Bummer. The " " made it seem like something on the lines of "I've seen things that mortals can't even imagine" .
Or at least, "Man, wasn't I scared when I saw that skull" . |

I'll think of something "hotter" to write, I promise.
Meanwhile, how about we get this thread back on track with another quote. I think the following situation is funny because Matt would so obviously get arrested if this story had come out twenty years later.
From #223 (when Matt gets his sight back from the Beyonder):
Woman in the park: "Mister, you've been staring at my kid for five minutes. Is there something we can do for you?"
Matt: "Uh, no. No, thank you."
Now, seriously. If some strange guy you'd never met before came up and stared at your infant (intently, I might add) for five minutes, wouldn't you call the police? _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

LOL. That was an interesting issue, BTW.
Incidentally, It has one of my favourite Nelson quotes. I can't give the exact text as I read the story translated. However... The Beyonder, who has power to master the whole multiverse, has decided to own planet Earth. Only thing is, he wants to do it legally. Where do you go when you have such intentions? Why, you head straight to Nelson & Murdock for some legal assesment.
So the beyonder explains his intentions to Matt and Foggy. Matt has doubts and decides to take a stroll and give it some thought. Foggy KNOWS that there are a lot of bills to be paid, so he starts working in the case. After hours of hard work, the Beyonder visits Nelson in the Law Library to ask him: can he purchase Earth?
Well, says Foggy, yes,it can be done. There are things in some international laws from which you could make a case out for it, still, "it will take a lot of time" (Foggy says so with a nearly wicked smile which I suppose implies that the firm's fees shall be unusually high)
This one cracks me up each time I read it (Along with the Beyonder's answer: "You have the time") _________________ Gloria

Today I came across a text from The Republic, from Plato, about justice and it reminded me a speech of DD.
From DD to Nick Manolis in the final scene of V1 #169 ("Devils") :
"Nick, men like Bullseye would rule the world were it not for a structure of laws that society has created to keep such men in check.
The moment one man takes another man's life in his own hands, he is rejecting the law and working to destroy that structure.
If Bullseye is a menace to society, it is society that must make him pay the price. Not you. And not me.
I wanted him to die, Nick. I detest what he he does... What he is.
But I'm not God...
I'm not the law...
And I'm not a murderer." _________________ Visit the Red Shaker |
