well, i`ve reading most of the post in the spidey forum about OMD, and in my opinion it really sucks!! (i hope that joe`q will never put JMS in a DD related book!!! can you imagine?? Kingpin or Bullseye having children with Karen Page?? Organic billy clubs?? Devil-Totem super powers??)

But, i thing that milla has been a great character, and a incredible adition to de DD team.....

Can a "OMD event" happen with dd? (matt had a run with mephisto back in nocenti`s run)

Interesting post! I'm thinking that compared to all the different ways of ending a marriage out there, a divorce actually makes sense. There are other ways of breaking people up that don't involve the devil. Maybe someone could point that out to Joey Q.

As for whether it will happen with Matt and Milla, who knows? I really don't think Bru will actually kill her off (at least not in this arc), but two things I can imagine happening in the near future is that she will either go permanently insane or wisen up and leave him for reasons of self-preservation. I wasn't completely sold on her in the beginning, but I think there is a certain depth to the character that should be explored further and I think she deserves better than to be shipped off to an insane asylum. When it comes to cosmic events of the Mephisto kind, I don't think we'll be seeing anything like that. It would be so wrong for the book, and I think even the powers that be realize that.

Organic billy club, huh? Laughing Well, maybe DD should make an environmental statement and at least make it bio-degradable. Speaking of the billy club, does anyone know if it still converts into a cane and vice versa (I haven't seen that actually happen in any issue from the last ten years)?

Well, Matt has met Mephisto a couple of times (one drawn by... Joe Q himself!) and he didn't make any deals (even though he was in very trying circumstances on both occasions!)... you see Matt may be a bit of a hothead sometimes, but is clever enough to know that deals with the Devil don't end well.

And Brubaker is a very talented writer, so if he chooses to have Milla out of the series, he will do so with a sound, believable plot, something more down to earth like, say, a divorce.

The marriage really never seemed to make much sense to me. Considering how much Milla has gone through since meeting Matt, and how Lily has made it perfectly clear that Matt has never gotten over Karen, a divorce makes perfect sense.

Milla's character has always seemed rather... thin to me. There's just not much else going on there. I mean, they wrote an entire issue about her emotional turmoil while Matt goes out and beats on bad people, and I still feel like she just doesn't 'pop'. It's sad, because I was reading the story arc in which she was introduced just last night, and kind of enjoyed it. But ultimately, I think Daredevil's had quite enough love interests, and introducing an all-new one was kind of a waste on Bendis' part. I personally found the romantic tension (if you can call it that) between Matt and Natasha in the Black Widow arc far more engaging than anything involving Milla.

Hell, even Elektra's brief appearances in The Murdock Papers and the Black Widow arc were so much more powerful than when he was with Milla.

Don't worry Francesco, while that's probably a good idea, there are technically no real spoilers in this thread (even though it might seem that way). Cool

About Milla's character, I think there are interesting stories to be told about her, but she hasn't been used in a way to make most readers really feel for her yet. The fact that Matt is still in love with Karen doesn't really change anything though since that's not an option for him. Sure, she was probably the love of his life, but if she's dead, I'm sure he'd rather have someone else that he loves (in perhaps a slightly different way) than to go through life alone. With Natasha and Elektra(!), there's that element of real life getting in the way. As much as I'm sure Matt genuinly enjoys many elements of his vigilante lifestyle (he's not driven solely by a sense of duty), he also seems to really want some kind of normal life as well. Despite all the "sexual tension," I don't think he feels he can have that with Natasha, and I don't think he has any real affection for Elektra (whom I've never considered a realistic love interest at all beyond their initial love affair).

Well, just my two cents. Three hours into 2008, I'm going to bed. Wink

I really like Milla, and I hope she sticks around. If there were a divorce or otherwise, then it is one more lady for Matt to obsess over, dream about, avenge, get back, impress, struggle with, or whatever, and that's getting so old already.

Give Matt a steady solid chick and let him move on to other things.

Hmm, here's the thing, and I'll try not to aggravate the situation since I do feel a little guilty. Here's what I would say. Most of what I wrote in my post is either speculation or an extreme exaggeration. It has "what-ifs" written all over it. I'll leave it at that. To the extent that I may have given anything away, I'm genuinly sorry. Sad

No problem, turns out that that bit was also already spoilered in the main page of the site.

Hey Francesco, I know you're a bit behind in terms of what issue you are on, so sorry. I just took a portion of the solicit for #103 and posted it there (and I even took out what I felt was spoilers on who he was looking for!). I guess in the future I won't post any info.

While we're on the subject, what would be good guidelines for spoilers in terms of when a particular development becomes "old news"? It is sometimes hard to discuss things without directly or indirectly referencing an ongoing storyline in some way (without necessarily going into specifics). Not making specific references to anything that hasn't been collected in TPB yet (such as an arc in progress) isn't too hard, but beyond that it becomes a little tricky. Any recommendations?
