LOL, I guess I eat a healthy amount of fiber and I am not familiar with such troubles.

But I bet others can't escape the rigors of Moctezuma's Revenge Wink

*raises hand*

I was wondering, was Foggy ever seen, in his history, having some, umm... nervous breakdown or something? You know, like the ones that happen to his friend Matt from time to time.

I don't remember seeing anything like that, but I guess he's gone through his share of tough times as well. I'm specifically thinking of his days of being separated and sleeping in the office. But that hardly qualifies as a psychotic break. Wink

By comparison, Matt comes off as a complete psycho when I think about it. Shocked (I know that emoticon is supposed to mean "shocked" but I use it here to mean, ahem, psycho.)

I wouldn't call them breakdowns. But Foggy had his issues during Miller's back in the day. Actually Foggy had some major problems during that time. Matt really was at ease for the most part during all that, not counting the Elektra situation.

Yes, it was in the early Miller issues. Not long after his marriage he started to act strange, was moody, stood in office until late hours, and wasn't very dependable... It turned to be that "The Storefront" (the free clinic where he, Matt and Becky worked) wasn't making enough money to continue in bussiness, plus they had lost a government grant to fund the free clinic, and Foggy felt it was his fault for not doing the work right and got depressed (hence the moodiness, etc.)

However, with a bit of pep talk by Matt, he was again on his feet to save the day for Melvin Potter... He was even able to convince J. Jonah Jameson to pay N&M's services handsomely (Yes. JJJ. Paying generously. I know it's difficult to believe, but it happened once Laughing ).

Apart from that, there is a period, shortly before the Miller era, when Foggy's girlfriend was kidnapped. It was Purple man's fault, even though the b]stard made it appear as if the culprit for Debbie's ransom was Heather Glenn trouble. While his girl stood kidnapped (and not found neither by the police nor by DD), and soon after her release, Nelson's amiable character soured considerably: he even knocked down a journalist, argued with Matt, and drank more tha he should for a while (even though he never reached Stark's levels of booziness).

Speaking of which. Do you know what was Foggy's favourite booze, the one he reserves for getting himself thrashed on special occasions?

I must confess that even in my Nelsonian geekiness, I ignore the detail, I always had the impression that it was Scotch or Bourbon, not that this was too specific.

So I have checked the last occasion when I saw the Fogster drown his sorrows in alcohol (Daredevil Vol. 2 #77), and he's been clearly drinking from a bottle of Glennfiddich... Glennfiddich?

...Blended Scotch? .....Blended Scotch?!?!

Damn, Nelson! And I thought that a Lawyer of your status would at least drink unblended Whiskies!

Throw that bottle out the window and get yourself a Glenlivet!

Glennfiddich is not a blend but a single malt.
Sure, it's not a good one, but it's a single malt (from Speyside).
Glenlivet is not my fave scotch either.
I prefer Lagavulin (from Islay) and Highland Park (Orkney).

I know stuff about whiskies, I have currently 15 different bottles at home (scotches, bourbon, rye and even a Japanese one).

If Matt was in whiskies too, I think he would drink Redbreast (12 or 15) : it's an Irish Whiskey with a very delicate bouquet (floral notes, as they say).

I think just the fact that it's Irish and called Redbreast would suggest that it's a perfect match for a redhead of Irish descent who wears a red suit. Wink

I can imagine Matt occasionally having a glass of wine or something, but he probably isn't much of a drinker. I can just kind of see how being drunk would seriously screw with his senses.

Thanks for the correction Wink I suppose I was mistaken because it is usually placed among blended brands in the store.

BTW, I have at home an Orkney Whisky I bought during a trip to the UK: Signatory... is it good, in your opinion?

I guess I shouldn't have paraded with my whisky knowledge : I didn't know this brand Very Happy

Anyway, after a quick search, it seems it's not a distillery but more of a bottler that has specialised in Single Cask and Vintage. So, you have to precise the name of your bottle.

Orkney is just the region, the distillery might be Highland Park or Scapa or...
BUT, generally speaking, the "Island" whiskies are good stuff.
And a whisky that deserves a vintage or single cask selection is presumably very good stuff.

Very good, I see you did your homework. And I thought I was the only one who noticed it. By coincidence I was consuming an identical bottle during the recent festivities.
And as Alley pointed out, it's not a blended scotch.

Aye. I was wrong.

I suppose I thought the Fogster could afford other brands. You can find Glennfiddich in most any supermarket.

At any rate, it's better than mine.

The details: It's "Signatory Vintage 1990". Distilled at Scapa. Single Orkney Island Malt. Matured in Oak 10 years

I can say that there must have been better ones than this, as I was really after another Scapa Whisky but it was really too expensive. It still full over the half, as I only feel like having a taste on very rare occasions.

No, that's outdated. These days, you win internets.
You just won one internet! Congrats!

He probably grabbed that one in a supermarket off panel, on the way home from the news stand.

And the question now spontaneously arises. Is Foggy really "a little lamb"?
