This one was easy. I nominated 34 Hours so how could I vote for anything else? It's a great "day in the life of..." story that's just as much a story about New York as it is about Daredevil. I could go on and on, but its greatness pretty much speaks for itself, and it reads like a work of poetry. Love it! _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

In this one, I go for #236 "American Dreamer" because I like the pitch : "a team-up with Black Widow to stop a super-soldier gone mad".
There's Tash, good art by Windsor Smith and a kinda touching final scene. _________________ Visit the Red Shaker |

I think that "American Dreamer" is a pretty good story. Good points by Nocenti and terrific art by Smith.
... But I voted for "the deadliest night of my life".
The author was not an habitual comics writer, so there's some freshness here in the approach.
This issue breaks a bit with the Miller-stablished pattern of Matt as a tormented hero. here we have Matt so focused into just surviving oner death trap after the other that he has little time to angst around. Each trap requiring a new solution, and the hero's constant need to stay alert. In this story, Matt's brain is as much a tool for survival as his well-trained body and super-senses.
And Mazz is the number one DD artis in my book (which is to say something! as the Devil's got an impresive rooster of pencillers in his story!).
I was sorry about the shark, tho'. Somehow I can't stand the sight of fish being out of breath (Yes, imagine which was the cruellest scene of "Total Recall" for me!) _________________ Gloria
