The Message Board is currently in read-only mode, as the software is now out of date. Several features and pages have been removed. If/When I get time I intend to re-launch the board with updated software.

Hi everyone. I just joined this board today, though I've been a on/off DD fan for many, many years (since the early 1980's).
I just wanted to address an issue with the comics that I've noticed, but that hasn't been highly discussed on this board:
The post-F. Miller Volume 1 DD comics (#192 - #380) have largely not been reprinted in TPB form by Marvel, other than the "Love's Labor Lost" TPB, the Typhoid Mary storyline, the short "Fall of the Kingpin" storyline, the Miller "Born Again" storyline, and the TPB focusing on DD's new suit from the '90's. Though I know that sounds like a lot of issues, it's really very few considering there are so many that have not been reprinted from #192 - #380.
Why? While the Miller stuff was definitely great and set the bar for the character and series since that time, many (if not most) of the post Miller DD comics were very underrated and well-done, and deserve to be reprinted as much (if not more than) the Bendis stories. I liked how many of the writers/artists of these DD comics kept the edgy, urban, street "feel" to the DD stories that Miller had created, without being direct copies of the Miller books.
Re: these issues, there are too many to list here, but #192-200 were excellent, as was the Micah Sinn storyline in the early #200's, etc. I would have others to list, but I stopped reading the comic after the mid #200's, though I am very interested in catching up on what I missed.
Since the only way to get most of these comics now is by buying the individual issues, it would be great if Marvel could set up a regular publishing program in which they would reprint these issues in Omnibuses (maybe one a year) until they finish reprinting all of these comics.
The only comics that shouldn't be reprinted are the "Born Again" storyline, since those issues have been reprinted so many times already (conversely, "Love's Labor Lost", the Typhoid Mary comics, "The Fall of the Kingpin", etc. are out of print and not always easy to find).
Would anyone else like to see these issues reprinted? I know these are not the most popular of the DD comics, but they really deserve to find a new audience after being out of the mainstream for so long.
I know it's unlikely that these will be reprinted (since it probably would have happened already), but if there's enough of a demand from fans, maybe Marvel will do this.

Hell yeah! I've been saying that for years. This stuff is great and should be reprinted. It is IMO way more deserving of being in trade form than Guardian Devil and the Bendis stuff which is shoved down our throats all of the time.
I'd love to see an omnibus collection of Ann Nocenti's run and Denny O'Neil's especially. A lot of the stuff after issue 300 though I don't care much for but a collection of Chichester's best stuff would be good (292 to 300 plus 304 and 380 spring to my mind as his best) _________________ "This isn't hell, but you can see it from here." -The Crow |

A lot of these are fairly easy to pick up on ebay from time to time, and sometimes a large run all at once. I know that when I was collecting issues to fill in the holes in my stash, I ended up with lots of duplicates of the 200-380 issues. If there is something you might like that I have, I'd be happy to pass it along if someone paid the shipping, since they can get heavy/expensive quickly. PM me if you like. _________________ Alice

Nocenti? Really? Daredevil saves the environment? Also, isn't she the editor of High Times magazine now?
