I just want to know everything about the Frank Miller Klaus Janson DD omnibus. Were the colors "modernized" like they are in the Masterworks? Was any content changed and/or removed? Does it include the letters pages, if they even had one? What are all the extras? And finally, is it worth $100? |

More importantly, does anyone know if anyone is selling the Omnibus for cheap? _________________ JC

Good questions - I bought the "DD FM/KJ Omnibus" last Fall and was not dissapointed. Yes, the comics have all been
re-colored and reprinted on high quality paper like the DD Masterworks volumes. It didn't seem like any content was changed/removed, other than the fact that the pages seem to be slightly bigger than the original comics.
The letters pages that were in the original comics are not included in this Omnibus.
There are some extra sketches in the very back, and at least one "What If" DD-related story, which is interesting.
FYI, you can get most of the content of this Omnibus in the three individual "Frank Miller DD" TPB's that came out in 2000-2001, but in my opinion this Omnibus is preferable because it has slightly more content, and the printing quality is superior. Plus, it's hardcover.
And, yes, I do think it's worth $100 if you really like these stories. You may be able to get it on sale online - I would shop around. |
