Hey! You guys! Do you think that Marvel should just print Bru's scripts as they're turned in? I mean, any kid reading Daredevil comics is mature enough to read the odd cuss word, aren't they? If anything, it's childish to see @#$% every time someone swears. I say either no more cussin', or fire up an more adult imprint (like DC's Vertigo) and let 'er rip. Am I alone here? Check out my lightbulb! Idea

I have no problem with that.
I used to have problems with MAX titles that some times seemed to contain cuss words just for the hell of it.

I don't mind the #$*&^'s. Adult's know what they mean. Kids don't (in theory). If everyone who should know knows what the word is anyway, who cares? No need to spell it out.

Agree with you, JC. I don't think #$%^#$ needs to be printed out.

What's that sound? Why, I think it's hell freezing over.

I have no *#%&ing problem with the symbols, instead of the $%^#ing obscenities. I personally couldn’t give a rat’s #%$ whether they use the symbols or the actual verbiage , but there are some who do, so in deference, to those $%#@’ers, go with the symbols.

Do they rate comics on the same criteria as movies?

A pg-13 (not a comic rating) can have words like **** and what not in them.

So it'd make sense that comics would be allowed.

Plus I doubt very many younger kids read daredevil.

But movies and comics are different insofar as there's a massive difference between the way you hear things and the way you read. The "%&$*" approach could never work in a movie because you have to throw in a jolting sound to cover the swear.

Reading is much different. Hvae you ever seen that wried tihng wehre the ltetres of wrdos are msesed up but you can sitll raed it? That's because your brain reads words in blocks. In fact, most people read partial sentences and sometimes paragraphs at a time. So when you see a "$%$*" in context your brain instantly knows what the word is. Unless it's some really creative swearing there's literally no difference between the "real" word and the symbols. So, really, spelling it out is unnecessary.

True. It is a more creative way of doing it.

There are sometimes more than one word that can be put in there.
