What's everyone's favourite splash page? Mine is either Joe Quesada's samurai Daredevil on a motorbike (Father #3) or Alex Maleev's DD and Black Widow beating the stuffing out of Jigsaw (V2 #62).

I like the one from DD vol II #60, with Daredevil and his allies leaping into action. Makes a good climax with the two preceeding pages, filled with the right amount of tension.

Without question, Vol. 1 #232, right after he pegs Nuke in the head with his billy club. Finally, having his life dismantled and nearly dying, Matt had put everything back together and the hero had returned.

Definitely! I didn't think that counted, but that trumps everything.

One big picture that tends to (always?) splash across two pages. Smile

I didn't realize it had to spill over two pages. In that case, it has to be John Romita Jr's final image at the end of Frank Miller's Man Without Fear series.

You're right. It doesn't have to "splash" over two pages. The Splash Page is a term that traditionally defined the first page of artwork in the story. It was almost always a full page picture intended to make "a splash" or dynamic impression when you opened the comic.

My all-time favourite "splash" page can be found in one of the vol 1 issues that was reprinted in DD vo. 2 #100. It is the magnificient two page splash from DD vol. 1, #90 showing DD lunging off a flagpole to grap a falling Black Widow. Thirty-five years after his lengthy run on the comic, Gene Colan remains DD's greatest action oriented artist. He also drew one damned-fine sexy Black Widow. Both elements - DD action, sexy BW - were on unparelleled display in that two page splash.

Mine would have to be from the Fallen Son: Wolverine one-shot. While it's not a DD book the double page spread where he flips over a charging Wolverine is just freakin' awesome.

Maybe not an obvious choice, but I love the splash of DD in issue #56 (v.2) that symbolises Matt going all-out in his war on crime, during the "lost year". The combination of the image and the text is really powerful.
