The Message Board is currently in read-only mode, as the software is now out of date. Several features and pages have been removed. If/When I get time I intend to re-launch the board with updated software.

It took me a while (actually forever by my usual standards) to get my hands on this issue. I just finished it about 20 minutes ago, and I have to say I am a little torn. I enjoyed the issue, but I am a little annoyed by the fact that Lady B was the donovan's lawyer. I was kind of hoping that the two things would be unrelated. At times it just gets a bit irritating that the majority of Matt's turmoil is caused by some bad guy deciding to screw with his personal life for the millionth time...granted that has led to some of the best DD stories. I dunno maybe I am just complaining about nothing.

While I enjoyed the issue, immensely, I do understand where you're coming from. I would have wished for the two to be unrelated too. On the other hand, I don't think the Donovans decision to go ahead and do this has anything to do with Lady B. I doubt she had to twist their arm or anything. Lady B's involvement in this may not really have any bearing on the outcome, even though she is certainly helping the process along, so I don't mind it too much. What's interesting is that a while back, Brubaker said that what Lady B wants from Matt isn't personal so I do wonder what her agenda here is. Is he just a means to an end?

LOL it is times like this this that I am almost sorry that I buy the issues as they come out and not the TPB's . I am just not good at looking at each issue and not spending days speculating on what will happen next. I want to know what the heck is going on with Lady B NOW. I stink at surprises!!!

I'm with the two of you on this point.

One the one hand, it does feel a bit too coincidental, and perhaps even contrived, that LB is the Donovans' lawyer. On the other hand, though, it adds to the great drama in Matt's office, demontrates her determination to ensure the litany of details to her masterplan (whatever that may ultimately be) is fully implemented without interruption, and gives you a sense of how rogue she's become.

Not meaning to get too literal about all of this, but did she invest all those years to become a lawyer and build up her credentials in a respected, big city firm for precisely this one moment in Matt's office to unfold? Given everything else she's done (that we've seen and the stuff we haven't seen), that's got to be one doozy of a masterplan! Poor Matt, when he asked LB's alter ego if she was hiding something, he probably didn't comprehend the complete depth of that question/statement!
