Unless I have missed something in the last day or two, I do not believe they have announced who it will be. _________________ https://twitter.com/tburnham7

Roberto de la Torre! I'm overjoyed! Can't wait to see how Daredevil and his cast look like in his very peculiar blocky-yet-plastic style!
The Diggle & de la Torre duo has made a splendid work so far in the most recent issues of Thunderbolts. |

I've heard good things about the Diggle/De La Torre run on Thunderbolts but haven't gotten a chance to read any of it.
The only thing that I KNOW that I've seen De La Torre's pencils on was Cap #39. He's definitely got his own style but I'd say it still falls in with the same feel that Maleev and Lark brought to the book (again, from what little I've seen).
I'm hoping Diggle/De La Torre can jump right into the big shoes left by Bru/Lark. _________________ https://twitter.com/tburnham7

When I first heard of this, and then saw it posted here yesterday (by Fransesco), I was slightly worried and swept through, hoping my fears would be put to rest.
I had not cracked open a issue of "Thunderbolts" (the whole premise of it never once appealed to me) and having not seen a single panel of Roberto de la Torre's work, I scoured the internet. The sparce samples in the small window of time I had available to find and view them... well, I was a bit worried. The samples I found were straight forward "superhero" stuff, reminicent of Mark Bagley (whom I've never liked... his work, in my eyes, was too stiff, plastic, "superhero-y" and greatly, greatly lacked even a hint of atmosphere; I know this may be a bit harsh to a great number of comic book readers out there who may be reading this, he is, as I come to understand --and scratching my head-- he is greatly revered by comic fans and the whole of the industry. I simply never liked his work... although, to be fair, Mark did convey a knack at visual storytelling, panel to panel). So, yes, I was worried.
Notice the past tense.
I had just seen his fairly spoiler-y (dammit!! I really couldn't resist) pencils for DD# 501 (located elsewhere on this website. Thanks again, Kuljit for updating this comprehensive and fantastic website).
Wow!
As mentioned previously, yes, his pencil work appears to be reminiscent of Alex Maleev and Michael Lark, previous and current (as of now, being with the release of DD#119 just on the horizon) currators of Hell's Kitchen. I was worried previously because seeing "superhero-y" artwork in a non-conventional (i.e. less mainstream, in the conventional superhero comic sort of way, and more experimental) comic series would have been a bit contradictory. And let's face it, Hell's Kitchen (like Gotham City), on the comic's page, is all about the atmosphere, is it not?
Roberto de la Torre seems to continue in that same Maleev / Lark visual vein, but still captures its own quirkiness and visual voice that is Roberto's alone (or so I would assume... this coming from someone who hasn't really seen much of his work at all, only small glimpses I was recently afforded).
It appears, given Andy Diggle's promise as a writer, his grasp on the character and the mythology and assuming Ed Brubaker gave him a lot to go on (just as Brian Michael Bendid had before him) and the recent peek at Roberto de la Torre's work, the Daredevil title is in good hands! And that is very, very good news.
Now that brings us to this: What??! Really? Are you kidding me? What the hell is up with all this "Dark Reign" crap?
But that's for another time perhaps. |

I like the style of the new artist. We just need to know how it will look after colorization. That being said, I'm a little worried by the last panel. Not that it is bad, just that it just prove I may be right on what could happen in DD 500.
I can buy that DD proclamed himself kingpin of hell's kitchen to prevent any illegal activities in the area, but I have many problems with him possibly becoming the Hand chief. Seing Matt becoming the leader of assassins make me sick |

I agree, if what you're inferring from that page is accurate (and I agree with your assumptions) then there will have to be a pretty good explanation to justify it. |

Milla. It seems more likely that it's KP, especially if DD is running the Hand - but would Marvel really let that happen? |

Personally I would hope neither of those are the case, but then again Marvel DID let Brubaker off Cap...
Has there been any word on if Hollingsworth will still be the colorist or if that part of the team will also be replaced? _________________ https://twitter.com/tburnham7

Hollingsworth will be the colourist. I haven't heard anything yet about Marko Djurdjevic. _________________ Kuljit Mithra

I don't really care who the artist is as long as it doesn't end up looking like some of the other Marvel titles, like Dark Reign Hawkeye or something. While the artwork works for these titles, one of the main reasons why DD sticks out is the artwork. Any drastic change would not be good in my opinion.
But then again, no change for a long period of time makes things stagnant. So who knows. |

I don't think either of those you mentioned died. There are lots of photographs on the garlands, and no coffins in front of the altar, only what seem to be three urns.
It is probably a funeral for people who got caught somehow in a battle between the Hand, DD and the Kingpin's guys, and maybe ended up incinerated or something. |
