The final issue of this miniseries is out this week, so here's an advance review:

How do you get advance copy? Especially considering you're from England and it not even out in NA alone till Wednesday?

No offense Dave, but your website has an annoying pop-up ad, are you aware of it? Because it annoying enough to make me not want to go on that website again.

Cheers!

I'm not Dave, but I'll answer you, Dante43, by saying that comic shops will many times have advance copies of certain titles, and established reviewers will get copies a week ahead of time to prepare a timely review.

Not really magic. Sorry, Dave.

Yes, I'm aware of it. Unfortunately, there's little that I can do about it - the site needs ads as a source of revenue.

I hope it doesn't put you off visiting the site in future. There are plenty of pop-up blocker programs that you can download to avoid them.

Not really magic. Sorry, Dave.

It actually doesn't work in that way exactly (for our site, anyway). We get electronic copies in advance, direct from Marvel, not hardcopies. I don't imagine that Marvel would be happy to foot the bill to advance-ship copies of their book to the UK just so that I can write a review! Smile

Anyway, has anyone got hold of the issue yet? What did you think?

Alex Irvine dropped me an e-mail to say that he appreciated the review, which was very kind of him. I'd love to see him and Coker take a shot at the regular DD title.

Dante, I use Firefox for my browser, and it keeps the ads from popping up on that site. Give it a shot. Dave's reviews are way too good to miss because of a pop-up.

I don't mind it having ads, but what pisses me off is pop-up ad.
I use Firefox, so I will give it a try when you review.
Or heck even better! Why don't you post your review here along your score?

Hey, everyone. For some time now, I've been ruminating on whether or not to pick up this mini series mostly because there are so many who say the ending leaves the story unsatisfyingly concluded and the fact that its out of continuity. The artistry itself is absolutely gorgeous and probably the only reason I can't let go of wanting the experience it in full. So, I wanted to ask you guys if there's anything else this mini has to offer besides its amazing noir style eye candy that would make it a worthwild purchase. Thanks.

I think you'd enjoy the story, and as far as it not being in continuity? Well, it's an alternative timeline story, so it's not intended to be, any more than 1602 or what if type story.

The art is very nice, and the setting of the series is quite authentic, except for one little goof with a background that has an Admiral television sign in it (sort of the wrong decade, that one). I'm looking forward to picking up the hardcover version of it soon myself.

Thanks for the feedback.

Apropos, I saw your DD collection and CBR's Send Us Your Shelf sometime ago. It was very impressive and quite admirable.
