I've just posted an interview I conducted with Daredevil letterer Joe Caramagna, where we discussed some of his choices for balloon placements and what goes into lettering. Hope you guys like it!

Good interview! You don't often read about the processes behind one of the most important stages of creating a comic - the lettering! I've always enjoyed listening/reading creators talk 'shop'. Thanks!

Thanks, glad you liked it. I also like to learn about the process, especially the lettering, because it's something many readers don't even realize requires a lot of work to do to get right.

Wow, I learned some stuff!

I find the whole process of creating a comic as really interesting.

Good interview!

Thanks,
Tom

Thanks Tom. I had to keep on convincing Joe that his answers weren't boring me to tears. I like hearing about behind-the-scenes stuff like this.

As a kid, I wanted to letter like they did in comics. It made me take up calligraphy as a hobby, which led to a short stint as a sign painter, when people used to really paint signs instead of cut vinyl letters for them. I'm a mad font lover.

The processes used now really do fascinate me, and the interview was hardly a bore. Thanks to Kuljit and Joe for a peek into this part of the artform!
