Just some random comments I had:

* Liked the interaction with Cap, especially DD's comments about the shield and a stradivarius
* Glad that Foggy is finally getting some of the action Matt always seems to get, lol
* Liked the little Mike Murdock shades and hat
* Nice to have a gay couple in the story and it felt like a natural part of the story, not forced or stereotypical
* Dug the way all those Klaws were represented

The battle between Cap and DD - with each using the other's weapon - was lots of fun. And yes, Matt's comment about the shield was a nice touch.

I also loved the development with Foggy, especially given that issue #1 seemed to set that character up as a new love interest for Matt.

And you're right about the gay couple - it was played perfectly, not made a big deal of but just accepted as a normal part of the story.

There should be a full slugfest review up at ComicsBulletin tomorrow.

I thought that this was a good issue. Not a great one, but a good one.

I like the direction that they seem to be going in. This issue was obviously written to lay the foundation for (what I am hoping will be) not only a good story line with the Cap / Bucky situation, but more so to lay the foundation for an interesting overall Daredevil character and supporting cast.

In my opinion Marvel has dropped the ball with many of their titles over the last few years. In m eyes Quesada destroyed some of their characters ( don't get me started about Quesada, I'll save that for another post ).

But with the relaunch of Daredevil it looks as though they have inserted a breath of fresh air back into Daredevil and his supporting cast. And while intending to introduce new characters and villains, thankfully at the same time they seem to be getting back to the 'basics' of what once made the DD the popular comic book what it was.

Actually enjoyed this issue more than the last one! Just loving the fresh feel and outlook of the whole thing, the look of the book in particular is so refreshing after many years of the dark and doom laden approach to this character.

Although I appreciated the likes of Bendis at the time, its not Frank Millers fault that so many not as talented creators since him have followed the editorial dictate that this character needs to be noirish and gritty all the time.

I hope to see this fresh approach to the character continue.

Cap gave up a little too easily, don't you think? He went to all the trouble to scramble Matt's radar to try and take him down, and with a few words from Matt, he just quit. Really? Was he drunk or something?
Other than that, I loved the issue. I'm really digging the tone of the artwork, and I hope Matt's radar sense continues to be depicted in this current style.

That would be great.

Well, Matt IS a lawyer; if anyone's going to persuade Cap with words Smile I think the Cap stuff was Waid just efficiently and nicely taking care of editorial mandate before continuing his Daredevil story. We know Matt is going to join the Avengers at some point, so this initial conversation had to take place. And I did think the Bucky argument Waid came up with was solid. Hopefully the "I'll join the Avengers" conversation takes place in the pages of Daredevil as well. I trust Waid to write it better than Bendis at this point.

I was blown away by the first issue and I think my high expectations for issue 2 let me down in the end.

To me, issue 2 was...just okay.

I thought that Captain America's appearance amounted to little more than a "hey, look, collectors! Captain America is in this issue!" shout out. His appearance served no purpose toward a plot point that I can discern. Is it a Marvel prerequisite that Cap appears in everything right now?

And then the whole thing ended with a weird Steve Gerber-esque science-fiction cliffhanger.

It's nice to see new life breathed into this character, but if issue 3 doesn't pick up, Mark Waid might have lost me after one issue.

A terrific issue with a cool cliffhanger.

The fight with Cap was graceful. Switching weapons was inspired as was the violin line (as well of his description of Cap's 'unique' heartbeat).

I liked how Matt resolved the situation though. It showed the clear connection and respect both characters have to the other.

The mystery thickens in a compelling way, the sonic Klaws were just Krazy, the art fabulous, Foggy being Foggy (which is why we luv'em) all that's left to say is, Bring on Klaw!
