Are DD: Father and DD: Redemption stand alone?

Hi everyone, could anyone tell me if the graphic novels Father or Redemption are stand alone. I was thinking to pick one of them up but wasnt sure if there was anything significant I would have to know before reading them (e.g. do they contain plots that were occuring in the main series at the time?)

Thanks again.

You should be fine with both of them. Need to know nothing other than DD concept going in. I liked Redemption better, but both were pretty good.

With father, you should be aware that at the time of those events, Matt Murdock was being hounded by the FBI who heavily suspected him of being Daredevil, and that DD had declared himself ruler of Hell's Kitchen, pretty much ignoring the rest of the city.

Ok thanks guys, good to know. They both seem pretty accessible then. Im gonna try Redemption seeing as how it sounds more creepy and adult themed than Father

Redemption was based loosely on the story of the West Memphis Three. Recently those three men were released from prison, one of them from death row.

It's a pretty good tale, overall. I think you'll enjoy it.

Here's a good rundown of what happened: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Memphis_Three

Once you read Redemption, you'll see the parallels.
