In this Installment of the DD Completest Corner I'm covering (to the best of my ability) those Daredevil reprint issues that have been stuck in with Action Figures. I'm not sure why, but I really haven't kept up with the DD and related heroes and villan action figures, probably because I was an adult when the Marvel Legend series started coming out, and for some reason my son would rather have the WoW action figures, so it was tough to buy a whole action figure when all I really wanted was the comic book to add to my collection.

There have been a number of action figures that included reprint editions from the DD Vol.I set of comics, some with very similar covers, and others with much more changes. Unlike some reprints (from other publishers) these action figure reprints are easy to spot and identify. Unfortunately, I haven't collected them all, so I can only comment on the differences for the issues that I have. Of course I plan on getting them all, and will add to the thread as I find and purchase them. If you have any of these issues, especially the ones I don't have, I'd love for you to confirm the information I'm presenting is correct, including what action figure the comic book reprint came from.

Some interesting notes about these reprints:

Marvel picked some really great issues to include with their action figures, and with the better paper and color quality they are a nice issues to read through.

I have noticed as I have picked up a number of these "Marvel Legends" comic reprints, that it is (in my humble, conservative grading opinion) to find these in better than VF+ or VF/NM. The reason for this is the way they are packaged in with the action figure, which allows for a horizontal pinch area across the top of the comic, about an inch down. I'm not sure if this "pinch" happens during manufacturing, shipping, or at retail when hung on display pegs.

As far as collectability goes, there seems to be a market for these issues, in some cases they are being sold for the same amounts as their original counterparts, but they don't show up in either the Overstreet Price Guide or Comics Buyer's Guide (CGB) Checklist & Price Guide, I'm guessing because they are reprints of the originals. You can find them on eBay in comic lots every now and then, where it appears a kid really wanted the action figures and has figured out that he can make a little money back by selling the included comics. For these lots it has been my experience that you can usually get each lot issue for under $1, unfortunately a lot of the issues are usually "not" DD.

Kuljit, I have no idea if you consider these reprint issues "variants" or if they would garner their own "reprints" section. Please let me know if you'd like cover scans for the issues I have, and I will get them scanned in as well.

Wow, the gallery is really nice! Thanks Kuljit.

I also think it is neat that you put up issue #30 where I scanned them side-by-side, so you can see that it simply isn't missing.

Just need confirmation and a pic of issue #33 newsstand to determine have them all I think.
