An excellent issue! I was genuinely moved by the invention Foggy showed Matt. It made the loss of their friendship deeply felt.
Mike Allred's art hearkens all the way back to Wally Wood. Go ahead and look at Daredevil Volume 1 #7 and see what I mean.
If there was a more threatening antagonist, I would have given this issue a 5. |

Loved it even more than I thought I would. Probably the best issue since 10 and this isn't a knock on Samnee. Loving his work too.
This issue was an instant "5" the second I saw the panel of Matt leaping down the stairwell and changing. Pure All Redness! _________________ Love is blindness, I don't want to see

One of the greatest issues of Daredevil in decades, and I don't use superlatives like these very lightly !!!!
Firstly, I felt like I was sent back in time, a time when Marvel Comics were an eagerly anticipated event each month. This issue reminded me of Stan Lee and Wally Wood, no mean feat !!!!
Aside from Waid's brilliant narrative, the artwork by MIKE ALLRED is so darn good, I was left salivating for more! As much as I have loved some of the art in this current run, ALLRED leaves everybody else for dead !!!! Man I hope the powers that be bring Mike back for some more issues, this guy is one of the most awesome artists on the planet.
And the return of Stilt Man, ironically, first pencilled by Wally Wood, way back in 1965. This issue depicts Stilt Man as more than just a second-rate, hack villain, there is a particular encounter with DD and Stilty that is quite terrifying.
My rating: 10 out of 10 |

I gave this issue a 4 out of 5 rating.
Allred isn't one of my favorite artists, but I enjoyed his work here. DD's fight with Stilt Man had a nice ebb & flow to it and Allred did good in showing DD's grace and fluid movements.
It was fun seeing Stilt Man again. He's a mixed bag of a character, with a schtick factor that's off the scale yet with some thought, could be quite dangerous in the right circumstances. (Interesting that DD mentions Iron Man during their fight, Stilt Man was Stark's first victim in the original Armor Wars because he was using pieces of Stark tech in his suit)
The videotape scenes made this issue for me. Matt's dialogue in those moments and his reactions to Foggy's gift, brilliant. |

Great stuff, good action, inventive use of Dds unique powers and some awesomely heartfelt stuff with Foggy. Not sure it's the perfect issue of dd but it's pretty close. _________________ when walking just walk, when sitting just sit, above all don't wobble. |
