Not Waid's strongest issue, probably due to the appearance of the fake Spider-Man. And the bomb Foggy drops at the end... Waid has to really treat that sensitively.

Loved it. 5 stars!

I had to look at the price again because it felt so jammed packed for a $2.99 book.

I do know what your saying Dimetre and I agree with you on this. That said, I trust Waid knows exactly what he's doing here. I have no doubt about it.

This isn't going to be a Kevin Smith's "Karen Page has aids! No she doesn't! It was all an illusion by Mysterio!" kind of thing where it is a villain's ploy. And I trust Waid's take on the Marvel Universe isn't going to be one where superheroes can cure everything. It still could be one where normal doctors are the heroes and some people survive this.

I can't wait to see what happens next.

The best thing about Waid's run is getting to know Matt and not just his alter-ego.

The folding of bills is something we all saw in the 2003 movie. It's nice to see it on the comics and of course, we got a bit of an elaboration with this different medium.

I am a sucker for Hornhead/Webhead pairing. I created a topic specifically about it. This may not be Peter Parker he was with, but it was nice to know that Matt really knows Peter Parker as he right away noticed that the Parker in costume was not giving out wisecracks and all. Kudos to Waid!

Sorry but I have nothing to say about the art. Just that I feel sad that this is the last cover from Paolo Rivera.

I've been 'trying' to get into this book, and well I'm nuts about End Of Days, but I really don't like this stuff here in Daredevils Main book. All I heard was Eisner this and Eisner that, but I don't see it, I don't see it at all. This Coyote thing shows up and Daredevil is supposedly crackers, and now in this last issue Spider Man? Spider Man I think is Marvels go to guy when things are getting stale. The Stilt Man!? Come on! I'm not 16 here.

Agreed. I'm hoping Hank Pym doesn't show up with some miracle fix. Waid has been treating and showing blindness with respect and humility so hopefully he will do the same with this somber topic.

I thought this was another terrific issue (4 out of 5), Waid managing to balance on the fine line of Matt wondering if something is 'wrong' with Spidey without crossing over that line. Matt calling Doc Ock a 'fat tub of lard' was pretty funny too.

Samnee continues to rise to the challenge, the sequence where Matt focuses past all the ambient noise to defeat Stilt-Man was pretty good.

Matt admits his new failings to Foggy and then Foggy's response just slaps the reader in the face. Did Not See That Coming.

Looking forward to seeing what happens next.

This is my first post for several years - basically since starting a family.
But I've kept up with DD every month, though often with tired eyes and interruptions from the kids.

With Brubaker I couldn't wait to get my paws on each month's issue, with Diggle's Shadowland, it was just a case of "what the f....?", and with Waid, I don't tend to feel much of anything.

Aside from one or two gem issues early on, every month has been a passable but underwhelming read, not helped by all the artist changes.
(Couldn't believe how much Marvel hyped the Rivera/Martin rotation, only to have them both effectively gone by issue 10).

I only get a couple of titles a month, and DD has always been my driving interest in comics. I realized last week when I picked up my latest reads, that for the first time ever, I was more psyched about reading the other comic (Hawkeye #7) than I was Daredevil #22.

It's not the lighter tone that leaves me cold - I really enjoyed the Kesel/Nord run - the flighty story arcs just don't seem to lead to much of consequence.

I'm aware that I don't get the opportunity to re-read comics as much as I used to, so my attitude to the Waid run may change should I get a chance to read his work in bigger chunks. I'm also still peeved that story threads and characters I was really keen on under Bru (the use of Dakota North, Black Tarantula) have just been left to hang.

Hopefully Waid can produce something of substance from Foggy's predicament, and maybe Samnee can draw a Daredevil who doesn't resemble a grumpy-faced geriatric.
