Let's face it Batman is way more popular than DD. So which DD books do you think would get Batman fans into DD? Personally I would start off with all the Frank Miller stuff. And considering Frank Miller wrote way more DD than Batman they would have a lot to get thru. _________________ Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken. |

I agree with you. Frank Miller. I'd probably have them read The Man Without Feae first since it gives the origin and teaches you about the character. |

Bullseye11 is right, Man Without Fear is probably the very best place to begin. For a follow-up, I would recommend the Cruel and Unusual arc by Ed Brubaker, Greg Rucka and Michael Lark. It's kind of an off-the-wall suggestion, but I like it for several reasons:
1. Brubaker, Rucka and Lark are no strangers to the Batman, having collaborated previously on Gotham Central at DC.
2. Although it's in the middle of the Brubaker run, the story is fairly self-contained.
3. It's where I started, so I have a soft spot for it.
I suppose that it goes without saying that the Miller Daredevil stories are gold.

I'd recommend getting them to start with Man Without Fear.
I'd then get them to read Frank Miller: Visionaries Volume 2 and 3.
If you can find it, get them to read Love's Labor Lost by Denny O'Neil and David Mazzuchelli.
Then Born Again.
After that, they'll read anything. |

I agree with everyone up top. Miller - MWF, Miller - Born Again, and I really enjoyed Brubaker's run. I also really enjoyed Love's Labor Lost and was pleased to see it mentioned.
The only books I would tell a potential Batman to DD fan is to NOT read the 2 or 3 Batman/Daredevil teamup books. They weren't terrible but they just seem to be part of the 90s comics dark years that I'd just as soon forget. At least I think they were from the 90s.
Good string. _________________ GrinchieDog |

I could not agree more. I would get Batman fans a copy of the BMB DD Omnibus _________________ Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken. |
