I'm surprised I'm the first to comment on this one. It felt like a putting the pieces together issue after the first two big surprises. The Stromwyns working with the Hand neatly ties together two threads and doesn't seem that out of place, so it makes sense. But the real point of the issue is how it'll impact the future. _________________ Matt Murdock's cooler twin brother

I gave this a four. I thought it was a strong issue, building up a larger story. After the Netflix series and the Soule run, I'm not excited for more Hand action, but I think the Stromwyns are great villains. They're just so fun to hate!
I don't read Punisher comics, so I wasn't aware that anything Hand-related was going on with Frank Castle. But it was good to see Detective North again, and I liked the scene with Luke Cage. Aka is a mysterious character, and if she has this easy a time against Matt, the Fist idea doesn't look like it's going to go too smoothly.
I'm honestly not overly excited for this Fist story, because it bears an overly strong resemblance to the Shadowland disaster. Matt's lofty pronouncements about saving the world and providing new guideposts sound like his hubris about Shadowland. He's not being as naive as believing he can lead the Hand without being corrupted, but we can already guess that this is, at the very least, not going to go well. |
