|
|
I have seen the DD 106 preview and couldn't resist in seeing the others. ( and expecially NA#39 )
And all that I can say is that I don't like what I have seen, which may imply that Matt... may be a skrull.
Well, DD ( even if Iron fist was under the mask at this time ) had a sense in the civil war book, but Matt in a skrull war ? I'm sorry but the DD universe has nothing to do with an alien invasion, and I'm really worried that it may damage ed brubaker fine run. |

My Bendis-plot-sense tells me that that "Daredevil" is the real one, not a Skrull, and that what we are shown is just a pretext to have a "little fight between two heroes" that will almost certainly end up with DD patronizingly telling Echo some moral about "being a hero", "trusting the others" et similia.
Basically, a remake of the White Tiger's initiation. |

I've seen the preview too, and I'm not the least bit concerned that DD might be a Skrull. I'm 100% sure he's still human. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

Wow. Secret Invasion is gonna suck.
Page 1 - Echo looks at her own face.
Page 2 - Echo thinks Wolverine might be a Skrull because he seems to have forgotten something he SHOULD KNOW!
Page 3 - Wolverine explains that he hasn't really forgotten.
Page 4 - Echo jumps around a bit.
Page 5 - Echo thinks Daredevil might be a Skrull because he seems to have forgotten something he SHOULD KNOW!
Wow, same idea 3 pages apart. Yikes. _________________ JC

My biggest problem with that preview is DD saying: "You're like this whole rebel superhero person now."
Uhm, Matt doesn't talk like that... I'm suddenly wishing that this actually turns out to be a Skrull rather than an example of poor writing. _________________ The Other Murdock Papers |

Maybe Echo is the Skrull.
(not that I particularly care one way or the other... but Echo is able to "adopt" one's physical prowess to her own arsonal. This may be a way of explaining that a bit. Which of course would water down David Mack's original voice of the character, and that would be a bit of a shame) |

The preview also denotes a complete lack of character development.
Wolverine is the usual "ya snikt bub I'm a damnd". We don't understand what's the problem with Echo or why has DD popped out all of a sudden and started belittling her for being an unregistered street level vigilante (that is exactly what he is).
Basically Bendis has at his disposal a cast of big guns and all the interaction and plot he can write has been reduced to "are you a skrull? - No I'm not, you?" and it has been this way in NA since the "Skrulektra big deal". |

will echo meet randomly every superheroes in NY asking them if they are skrull ?
Yes, the "You're like this whole rebel superhero person now." worried me...
Quesada : hi guys, peoples are complaining that DD isn't beiing as superheroic.
Brubaker : don't worry, I'm working hard on the problem, my next run will be about Matt dealing with all the repercussion of his fight with mister fear. He will accept a new seemingly lost case and slowly return to a more heroic position.
bendis : I have THE solution. Matt isn't that heroic because... he is a skrull ! can you believe it ?
brubaker : i can believe it's the worst idea since the de matteis run...
Quesada : brilliant ! Do it ! |

Seems like I was wrong. That DD was actually a Skrull. My Bendis-plot-sense needs a revision. |

And Bendis has mentioned at Newsarama that the DD in New Avengers here was a Skrull, but the DD we know in the main title is definitely not a Skrull. _________________ Kuljit Mithra

That's what I had assumed, but it's good to have it confirmed. |

Does anyone think that this Skrull stuff (Elektra specifically) will be used to make up for his horrible continuity flubs in the Murdock Papers? A Skrull who only knows a little about DD could easily mix things up regarding when she was/wasn't working for the Kingpin and wouldn't know that the papers were a trick. |

That's a possibility. It would also explain the Widow's diffidence towards her.
However, why did she feel to warn Matt in that occasion, if she wasn't the real Elektra? Why did she bring him to safety after he was sniped by Paladin?
Also, there's another problem related to Brubaker's run: why did she feel to send her ninjas to protect Foggy when Matt was in Europe?
A possible answer would be that the real Elektra is still around and in charge of the Hand. Or maybe also that Skrull-Elektra was one of those skrulls that have been brainwashed to actually believe they are the individual they are impersonating (as told by Bendis at newsarama). |

Yeah, apparently some Skrulls don't know they're Skrulls.
Battlestar Galacta-wha? It's like Bendis has turned into some sort of awesome original idea machine. _________________ JC
