Murdock Papers can't be explained by a Skrull (perhaps, Ben Urich was a Skrull too). Murdock Papers was so full of holes. One of the worst stories of all time. It's more than obvious that Elektra (in MP) replaced Echo (in fact, they had a cover with Echo and Black Widow, which later replaced Echo with Elektra). It was Echo that was supposed to betray Matt (telling KP about his senses and how to "bypass" them in order to record Matt--as stupid as that, in and of itself sounds. I mean, I thought Dan the Bomb knew how to do that back in Born Again  ). But, whatever. This Skrull Invasion seems like another Earth Shattering Event!! from the House of Dumb Ideas.
I love that the Skrulls are coming to Earth and posing as heroes/anti-heroes. Biding their time, and fighting crime while they wait for their plan to unfold. Sure, it would be easier to pose as some regular joe, but hey, why not pose as Elektra. And, now we have theories that a Skrull posed as Daredevil, while Matt was also being Daredevil. Wow. Brazen bastards aren't they.

From a DD standpoint, it's interesting that a second former girl friend of his (this time Echo, last time Black Widow) is carrying on an intimate relationship with Hawkeye.
DD and Hawkeye are attracted to the exact same women. (And vice versa.)

| I was thinking... you must admit that by adding this "some of these undetectable skrulls could also have been sleeper agents all the time" bit, they've effectively made this event "continuity blunder-proof". |

True. Vaguely annoying but true. It's a little bit of the old magic that made BND make "sense".
That said, even I have to admit that the final moment in Secret Invasion #1 is pretty cool. I think long term, or maybe even short term it might be a mess but just as I realized that the heroes coming out of the crash might be the *true* ones I went "ohhhhhhhhhhhh".
....but here's where the short term comes in. If Beast has been a skrull through out all the cool stuff Morrisson did with him I'd be pretty disappointed. Ditto for White Queen and Jean. In fact, messing with any characters I care about (DD and the X-Men basically) would be kinda crappy. I assume it's the same for anyone who cares about the Avengers (although I can't imagine why anyone would).
