Daredevil Message Board The Board Without Fear!
|
The Message Board is currently in read-only mode, as the software is now out of date. Several features and pages have been removed. If/When I get time I intend to re-launch the board with updated software.

I'm a huge fan of the Bendis run, warts and all. Yes, he sometimes seemed a little sloppy in how he got from point A to point B and I do take exception with how knowing Matt is DD, was equated with knowing how his abilties work, but the majority of his issues were so emotionally intense that they left me with the same feeling I get when I watch an episode of The Shield (at least during the 1st 3 seasons.)
I find Bru's work to be more competent in handling the details, that is, the nuts and bolts of his storytelling, such as how he gets "from here to there", and he infuses a nice noir feel into his stories, but when they are done, they don't necessarily make me go "Whoa!", like Bendis' stuff did, with the exception of the aformentioned, Devil Inside and Out.
The bottom line, for me, is that I'm glad we've had both these guys on this title, and hope that whoever takes over, down the road, can keep the book at the high level, that I think it's been, over the last 6-7 years. _________________ It's never too late to have a happy childhood! |

I totally agree. Say what you want about how awesome I am, but Bendis and Bru really set the standard. Moreso than even Miller I would argue. _________________ "Show me a superhero without a first aid kit, an I'll show you a NUT!" (Daredevil #9) |

I still feel that Miller is the father of modern-day Daredevil. His stories are the foundation for Bendis' run while the atmosphere that Bru infuses in his stories harken back to Miller's day. _________________ It's never too late to have a happy childhood! |
