Spidey has a great rogue gallery..I mean c;mon, some of the all-time classics like the Goblin, Lizard, Vulture, Sandman, Kraven, Doc Ock to the newer legends in symbiote form. Maybe the symbiote thing got a little out of hand but even Carnage has had some great stories and he is about as deadly a foe as Parker ever fought.
Current trend would prove to be Mephisto I fear as his "worst" baddie due to the OMD/BND storyline, which I could care less about. The Spidey fans do seem to really hate that thoug..LOUDLY. |
Mephisto doesn't count imo. He isn't really Spidey's enemy. Just because he appeared in a Spider-man comic doesn't make him a Spider-Man villain. He's Ghost Rider's arch nemisis. Not Spidey's.

The orignal Mysterio Quentin Beck was pretty good. The people who later became Mysterio after he died aren't so great. Quentin was able to make Spider-Man think he was the size of a little spider inside a model. You don't see the later mysterios doing that.

Actually, I consider Mephisto Silver Surfer's arch nemesis. |
