The Kingpin's blindness caused by Echo in Parts of a Hole was absolutely brilliant!
Think about the Kingpin. He's arguably Matt and DD's greatest foe, yet he has no super abilities, gadgets (well, usually), etc. Most of the time, he doesn't even do the dirty work. Part of what makes Fisk such a fascinating villian is this, his lack of the usual supervillian powers, etc. So, making him blind and yet still powerful would be a wonderful character development.
(Of course, there's the obvious notion that it would be great to have DD's greatest villian be blind!)
Why couldn't Hardcore and The Murdock Papers have involved a blind Fisk? Hardcore would take some changes, but The Murdock Papers could have remained the same (Fisk was just in a chair the whole time, anyway). In fact a blind Kingpin would have made The Murdock Papers so much better!
What do you think? Should the Kingpin have stayed blind longer? |
