During the Decalogue arc, a Russian crime boss said that his lawyer told him if the FBI ever busted Matt for being DD, they would have to release all the criminals DD has busted over the years. Do you think what he said is correct?

I think in a way it makes sense, in some twisted way. But if this were to happen, that would be awesome!

It could happen, or not (comics can be unpredictable, especially DD). Anyway, should it happen, in my opinion it would be incoherent with the fact that even the Kingpin, whose role was crucial for the FBI to get Matt Murdock, was sent back to jail as soon as he was released.

Who wants a super nerdy answer? You all do, that's who.

Would the criminals that DD busted be released? No. No, they wouldn't. At first, one might think they would be released because as soon as DD got busted himself his credibility would be shot. That means that any evidence he was able to give would be worthless.

But: if you think about it it's not like DD gives evidence ever anyways. Like, DD never takes the stand. Therefore, if people DD busts are actually convicted (and now in jail) it would have meant that the authorities were able to convict those dude without DD's help anyway. So the fact that he can't testify doesn't mean much.

Prison does not mean anything in comics. Villains regularly get sent to prison and then just reappear within a relatively short period of time, without explaination. In comics, prison is more like being sent to sit in the corner with a dunce cap, or "goto your room without dinner."

Tis true. A villian "going to prison" is pretty much the comic industry's way of saying "good guy won" and nothing more.
