I went to the Toronto Comicon on the weekend, and met some former DD creators (Cary Nord, Marv Wolfman, Mike Oeming).
I won't try to describe how many of them knew who I was when I meekly asked "I don't know if you remember me, but..."
Also picked up some DD trades for $5 each, which was cool.
I also managed to find a Comics Journal issue #263 from Oct/Nov 2004, which has a great interview with Ed Brubaker, about his past indie work and his DC/Wildstorm work. The interview was conducted just before he was starting Captain America. If you're a fan of his writing, it's a great insight into his childhood, his troubled teen years and his eventual move to the mainstream. The interview is over 40 pages long. _________________ Kuljit Mithra

I hope you had a great time Kuljit. I should try and find that interview. 40 pages! That has got to be worth every penny.

Most of the interviews in The Comics Journal are high in quality and offer great insight . The very first issue I got hold of was #70 with a great Miller interview and a memoir of Wally Wood.
I'm still trying to find a copy of a more recent issue with Colan. |
