In Captain America Tony Stark is currently operating just fine as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. In World War Hulk he currently is prisoner of the Hulk and his warbound, with an obedience disk fastened to his chest.
I'm puzzled. Is the Captain America Stark a Life Model Decoy, or are the powers that be at Marvel just not as good at sustaining their universe as they once were? |

I think the answer is obvious. Joey Q. sucks.
But, it's nice of you to provide Marvel with an exit, Dimitre. "Uh, yeah, Life Model Decoy, yeah, that's the ticket!"

And in Mighty Avengers, Iron Man has melted/morphed into Ultron.
I'd have to go with your 2nd theory. Marvel, which originally was a leader in continuity, one of the things that attracted me to their titles in the first place, seems to hardly care about such things these days. They currently have an incredible amount of conflicting situations and timelines. _________________ It's never too late to have a happy childhood! |

A bit off topic, but from the various previews/reviews I'm seeing around the internet it seems that:
1) After Civil War, seems like everyone has gained the right to kick Iron Man's ass.
2) The current story of Mighty Avengers could be have been told in a single issue (really, it's worse than Dragonball), and Bendis is just stretching it this way so that Cho can fit more portraits of naked women in it. |

Sounds like my confusion over Fisk's status due to his continuing appearances in Amazing Spider-man.
...Marvel is really weird, right now. (Not that DC isn't. )
It feels like certain characters are being stretched thin and this results in very confusing appearances. Kingpin and Iron Man come to mind. I blame editorial forces.
Of course, there's a great fix for both characters: Kill Kingpin and Iron Man! _________________ "Flash is back. Worlds will die again!" |

I'm inclined to agree that the editors are more at fault than the writers/artists since it is essentially their responsibility to ensure continuity. Certain characters are being overused which has resulted in contradictory appearances... That's the price of over-exposure in comics these days. _________________ Andrew |
