I get the feeling that there aren't too many X-Fan around here (even I'm fairly fickle (only reading Astonishing right now)). But there are at least a few people who like bashing Marvel. With that in mind: has anyone seen the teaser pics from the upcoming X-Force series? There's Warpath, X-23 (sigh), some wolf person I don't know or recognize and...Wolverine!
Now, to be fair, apparently Marvel is about to shake up the X-Men title (again!) so there will be some cancellations and some additions. That said, it's possible that at some point in the very near future Wolverine will be on two squads of X-Men, a member or X-Force and a god damned Avenger. And that's leaving aside his solo adventures (where he is also double booked in his normal series and "Origins").
At what point did Marvel just go "screw it, let's put him n everything". Not that other companies don't do the same (Batman seems to get around a lot) but this seems special. If Wolverine does end up serving as a member of X-Men, X-Force and the Avengers it'll just be ridiculous. At least insofar as the three groups are know to have falling outs from time to time. This raises this ridiculous spector of Wolverine being on not only two sides of an issue but potentially three. Sigh. _________________ JC

That's obviously a case of WolveX-ploitation.
(But then he might have some weird deal with a dimensional transport company... Hey! according to the last issue Wolvie fought in an alternative World War One were Tanks were used in the field one year after they were in our timeline, Canadians wore US uniforms, and germans wore post-1916 British gas masks... in early 1915!) _________________ Gloria

Uncanny X-men was the first comic book that I read as a little kid, and I've been a pretty big X-Men fan ever since. That said, Wolverine was never my favourite. I like the character but I've never found him to be very accessible.
Anyway, he is way over-exposed in Marvel titles. I remember back in the early 90's when the two main X-titles (X-Men and Uncanny X-Men) featured the 'Blue' and 'Gold' teams respectively, and members of one were only featured in their book, not in both (unless there was a crossover in which both teams met within the context of the story). Wolverine was on the Blue team, and the only other place you saw him was in his own title. Now he is on several teams, each with different story arcs that are apparently happening concurrently (along with the events in his own title)... So much for continuity. lol _________________ Andrew |

But I love Cable! I've been waiting for him to shine for over 10 years. I was disappointed that his first series failed. Then he got teamed up with Deadpool and became a staple of the X-Men titles.
I am so glad he is back leading X-Force. The way newsarama describes the title, they are going to be like mercenaries. If Wolverine could stay on one title, seeing him in a series would feel more meaningful. But they want to make sure X-Force starts off well obviously. I absolutely hate X-23. What a lame copy of Wolverine. But the entire X-Force team looks to have claws or work with blades. Looks ninja to me. |

It brings back memories. I still have X-Force #1, which was actually one of the first comics I bought as a kid during what was a comic book boom in the early 90's. _________________ Andrew |
