Every then and now I check the Online gallery where originals by Michael Lark are exhibited for its sale.
In the originals of the last DD issues, Lark's pencils are shown as well as the final inked page.
I must say, much as I like the final inking by Gaudiano, the original tight pencils are simply BE-YOO-TEE-FOOL!
I wish I had money for that *sigh* _________________ Gloria

Aye, indeedy!
Lark's pencils make me dream of a watercoloured daredevil by him... But the drawing with the inks makes me dream of Alex Toth!
BTW, while this is already something than can be noticed in the printed comic, I believe the pannel composition is awesome!: lark draws considering that he has to leave space for the text, and yet the drawings, without the text bubbles are so incredibly, beautifully composed and framed.
Lark is a master. May he stay long in DD! I don't mind the occasional fill-ins and specials if that allows Lark to keep drawing DD so wonderfully without hastening the pace (and anyway, most of the guest artists are first-rate, so one can easily forgive the occasional non-Lark issue) _________________ Gloria
