Thanks Kuljit!
I had to restrain myself a little with this one, as I'm still feeling a little disappointed that Brubaker's run ended as suddenly as it did - but it would be unfair to criticise Diggle too harshly just because he isn't Brubaker. |

Brubaker has become my favorite writer over the past few years - I pick up virtually everything he puts out - so I have some of the same feelings that Dave does...however I was overall quite pleased with the first issue of the Diggle/De La Torre run.
I especially liked Dakota's inclusion in the scene at the offices of Nelson, Blake and Murdock as she's become a favorite supporting character of mine and I had hoped she would continue to be used in the book. De La Torre's pencils are a great fit for the book as well.
I've enjoyed Esad Ribic's work in the past, but the cover to #501 felt like the weak point to me (not that it's bad by any measure, I just didn't think it was as good as the rest).
Looking forward to seeing where this all goes. After this first issue it looks like DD is in good hands. _________________ https://twitter.com/tburnham7

My only reaction to this book was "meh". It was pretty much exactly what I was expecting, not bad. But there was never a WOW moment. And I have to admit that I went straight for Criminal this week rather than DD. |

Just read Daredevil #501...
I must say I love it. It's not as explosive as Daredevil #82 was with Foggy Nelson's "death". Not that what happened to Izo was irrelevant, but he has not been around as long as Foggy. So, why do I love it? The storyline screams with potential and it started here with this issue. Diggle seem to have chosen to take the ride slowly and smoothly.
Dela Torre's painted over art was awesome! It goes with what this book had in the past art-wise, while also standing out on it's own.
The last page was a great way to cap the issue... _________________ "I'm only a DEVIL to those who are demonic." |

Long day at work, and I am tired.
I really liked the issue -- like one of the above poster mentioned, it looks like Diggle is starting off slow with the plot.
One thing I can't let go after reading it twice -- did anyone notice that Dakota says she's going to punish herself by eating a donut, and then puts the donut back in the box uneaten.
Symbolism, perhaps?
OK, off to get some rest,
Tom |

I originally read it as her reaching for another donut...I'll have to go back and look again. _________________ https://twitter.com/tburnham7

I completely missed the fact that the new series of Criminal started this week! I'll have to make sure to pick it up next week. |

It happens. I have the advantage of working in a comic shop, so I get to see things as they are unpacked. It really helps when it comes to keeping up with things. Plus I adore the Brubaker/Philips projects more than anything these days. |

Yeah, Criminal has been great, and I quite liked Incognito too. I need to go back and check out their work on Sleeper, as I've never read it (but have heard good things). |

Wow, that's really a fantastic start!
At last it seems that Daredevil means business again. If he will actually kick ass again, the way he used to do during Bendis' run, the price he paid was a reasonable one |
