I have been rather unenthusiastic about 75% of what has been going on in comics lately...both in DD and out. For a brief time I kind thought I had lost my geek girl mojo, but yesterday I got the best news I have had in quite a while.
BIRDS OF PREY ARE BACK!
Not only are my favorite girls back together but Gail Simone and Ed Benes are back too. I spent a good ten minutes jumping up and down and squealing when one of my regular customers told me.

It got me thinking that I am a little sad that Marvel seems to have missed the boat a little. I have liked the Black Widow minis, but it makes me wonder what someone like Ms. Simone could do with the female characters of the Marvel U.
Any thoughts? |

Great move DC!
Gail is one of the absolute best in the business right now and her BOP was always a favorite of mine. Secret Six is also one of my "must reads" every month so this is terrific news. Benes' art does not work for every title, but it does for the Birds in a big way. I am excited and hope for a lot of BOP-Secret Six run ins. |

| She didn't rule a cross over out. I am a so excited to see what she has in mind for us. As much as I have loved Gotham City Sirens. It really wasn't giving me my fix of girly comic goodness the way BoP did. |

| Maybe one day Gail can write a DD story. I could imagine her doing some really cool and vicious things with Bullseye, Elektra, Typhoid, the Owl and of course Matt and all his ladies. Dakota North by Gail? Yes please. DD vs Catman? Make it happen! |
