So, Dark Reign - The List: Daredevil ships this week. I think that everyone here will really want to pick it up, as it's very much the first issue of Andy Diggle's DD run, with plenty of information that I'm sure will have a major impact on the core DD title over the coming months.

I said this in another conversation: there is one panel with a profile of Matt Murdock that reminds me way too much of the Beavis and Butthead cartoon. The story appears to have a good start, but that art is really lacking for me. Apparently these guys can draw action according to other reports, but their out-of-costume people are as lifeless as the Old Navy mannequins.
Oh, and a very good review, as always, Dave! _________________ Alice

Thanks Alice!
Yeah, the art for the out-of-costume sequences isn't that good, but most of the rest of the issue features DD in costume, so the weaknesses of the artwork aren't as apparent.
Incidentally, I recently saw the feature at CBR on your shelves of DD memorabilia - impressive stuff! |

I thought this was a great start to Diggle's run. I was a little worried about Tan's art, but he seems to have pulled it off okay. I'll have to go back and look for the "Beavis and Butthead" panel Darediva.
The preview for 501 has me excited about where Diggle will be taking Murdock in the future. And De La Torre's art in that preview looks a little more like the Daredevil art that we're used to. |

Yeah, De La Torre's artwork looks great - very much in keeping with the tone established by Maleev and Lark/Gaudiano. Looking forward to reading his first full issue. |

Picking this up tomorrow. Can't wait to see how Diggle picks up the story and moves it forward. |

I liked it. It wasn't anything earth shattering, but it was a nice little set up piece. I do have to say that it was nice to see color in a DD book. I had almost forgotten what that looked like. |

Well not to disrespect Billy Tan, but I am picking it up because of Andy Diggle. It could be drawn with stick figures, but so long as I get caught up with the story. then I am good. _________________ "I'm only a DEVIL to those who are demonic." |

I have finally recieved my copy of this one-shot form my store.
While it is not something to jump up and down for, I would say it is enough to be okay with Diggle replacing Brubaker. What Bullseye did was so Bullseye that it did disturb me a bit. He is dangerous when he thinks with his sick mind. Can't wait for more Bullseye from Diggle.
I just wish he kills Kingpin. Or does not write him. EVER! _________________ "I'm only a DEVIL to those who are demonic." |

Nothing earth shattering, in fact. |

Not only is the hawkeye thing getting old, but I don't think he's showed up in a Daredevil comic with that old costume since that single panel in that "nuff said" issue. He's been wearing that black leather coat and that forehead scar. |

Well, I guess we saw the old costume in Nocenti's issue #500 story - but I don't recall an appearance of the old costume in current continuity since then, no.
Although he does seem to be wearing it on the cover of #49 - but I don't remember him wearing it inside.

I finally got my copy in the mail and was able to read it today. I actually liked Tan's art. The colors were vibrant too. I know I'm going to miss Bru on this book, but I'm looking forward to Diggle's run. There's a lot of good stories to be told with this new direction that Bru left him with and I'm anxious to see where it goes.
I like how DD is already changing the Hand by putting his stamp on the new Hand outfits.
One last thing, you know it's an upside down world when Norman Osborn is running SHIELD and DD is the leader of the Hand |
