Daredevil Message Board The Board Without Fear!

The Message Board is currently in read-only mode, as the software is now out of date. Several features and pages have been removed. If/When I get time I intend to re-launch the board with updated software.

|
|
So I'm trying to wrap my head around how to collect Diggle's run on Daredevil, the Shadowland event, and Reborn in hardcover or trade paperback (along with the non-Diggle Shadowland tie ins). The best I can figure is as follows:
Quote: | Daredevil: The Devil's Hand - TPB ONLY
Dark Reign: The List - Daredevil #1, V2 #501-507
but Daredevil's The List can be found in the HC of The List
Shadowland: Daredevil - TPB or PHC
V2 #508-512 and Shadowland: After the Fall
Shadowland - TPB or PHC
Shadowland #1-5
Shadowland: Blood on the Streets - TPB or PHC
Shadowland: Blood on the Streets #1-4
Shadowland: Moon Knight - TPB or PHC
Shadowland: Moon Knight #1-3 and Moon Knight V1 #13
Shadowland: Power Man - TPB or PHC
Shadowland: Power Man #1-4 and material from X-Men: Curse of the Mutants Spotlight
Shadowland: Street Heroes - TPB or PHC
Shadowland: Daughters of the Shadow #1-3, Shadowland: Bullseye, Shadowland: Elektra, Shadowland: Ghost Rider and Shadowland: Spider-Man
Shadowland: Thunderbolts - TPB or PHC
Thunderbolts #148-151
Daredevil: Reborn - TPB or PHC
Daredevil: Reborn #1-4 |
I'm interesting in collecting many Daredevil books in the highest trade form possible, between Omnibus, OSHC, PHC, and TPB. But I'm also a little OCD in the format I collect things in, which leads me to the following:
Does anyone know why "Daredevil: The Devil's Hand" was only published as a TPB and not even as a PHC? Does anyone know if there are any plans to publish it in hardcover form?
Secondly, does anyone think there might be a Diggle Omnibus or two?
I think if you combined the Devil's Hand Trade, Daredevil Shadowland, the Shadowland Mini, and Reborn, you'd have a 23 issue Omnibus. Theoretically you could release all the Shadowland tie ins as another 23 issue "companion" Omnibus of sorts.
But Diggle isn't a big name like Bendis and Brubaker, and none of Diggle's Daredevil work was very highly acclaimed, nor was Shadowland, making me think it might not see the Omnibus format.
As I said, I'm a little OCD when it comes to collecting and I ask because it would be weird (to me) to have a bunch of PHCs and then just 1 TPB of Diggle's sitting there on my bookshelf. I could go all TPB for Diggle and the Shadowland tie ins, for the uniformity of format, but TPB isn't as classy as HCs. And of course, if there was going to be some kind of Omnibus, I'd prefer to go with that than the PHCs.
I know no one really knows anything without official solicitations, but I was just wondering if anyone has any info on why The Devil's Hand didn't get a PHC release and what people think the odds are that there might be some kind of Diggle and/or Shadowland Omnibuses?
Thanks! |

I haven't heard any news about collecting the whole SHADOWLAND, or why Devil's Hand wasn't originally available in PHC.
There probably isn't enough material for a true Diggle omnibus, but I could see them packaging up all the SHADOWLAND stuff... might be a while though, considering all of the material was reprinted twice in PHC and TPB just recently. _________________ Kuljit Mithra

Like Kodave, I'm collecting DD hardbacks, and have just made my way through 'Shadowland' (which I'm still trying to process to decide if I liked it or not!).
Am I right in saying there's just 'Reborn' left before Waid's run begins? |
