I thought this was interesting trivia, the original black and white Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic started as somewhat of a parody of Daredevil. The Turtles fought the Foot (which was an obvious parody of the Hand) and Splinter is a parody of Stick. TMNT even seemed to try to link the origin of the Turtles with DD's origin:

| That is interesting and makes quite a bit of sense. At the time Miller had his hand (yes the pun) with DD and brought in the whole ninja aspect. |
