I really enjoyed this issue! Ikari is a formidable threat to Daredevil, and he's really going to have to be creative to take him down. And we haven't even met Ikari's boss yet! Waid is really knocking these issues out of the park lately.
A lot of people complain about Samnee's art, but I think he's created some very entertaining visuals on Daredevil. I don't know what to expect from Javier Rodriguez when he takes hold of the pencils for a couple issues. |

Loved it! This was a solid 5. It is going to feel like forever before the next issue hits. Hopefully, this is a villain that sticks around and doesn't get killed off before this arc ends. I like the name and the costume design.
This was special week for me. Felt like I got the best of both worlds in my DD reading. A 60s pop explosion of clean line work in brightness and an 80s grim and gritty raw line work in darkness. Feeling pretty spoiled really.

It'll be interesting to hear more about Ikari's backstory and who's behind the whole ordeal. DD pissed off all of the major crime syndicates, so it could be just about anyone.
I certainly didn't like seeing the man without fear turn tail at the end. I thought they'd fight it out 'til the villain disappeared or DD got captured. With the Matt Murdock "secret identity" being known to all, you'd think DD would deal with these threats with more haste.
Overall it was a page turner and I'm on pins and needles 'til the next issue comes out. Still not sure how I feel about villains duplicating the accident that created our hero. |

I know now why I was fine with Waid toying with DD's accident. It was all for an awesome reason.
Ikari was a good reveal. DD just got himself a Venom of a villain. Here is one villain I will look forward to seeing more of.
Waid FTW!!! _________________ "I'm only a DEVIL to those who are demonic." |

The Stick flashback was fantastic (*pushed* "God, i hated that man." had me laughing, priceless). My eyes went wide about mentioning the red baseball bat. A very well done issue. |

I'm interested to learn who is behind the Ikari mask, if this 'warrior' has any personal connection to Matt.
Terrific intro to a great new villain. Love the costume and the twin weapons (a shout-out to Elektra and her sais, perhaps)
As for the mastermind, the only clue I noticed was Ikari's comments at the end about inspiring fear in Matt, which makes me think of Mister Fear. Could be a red herring by Waid though.
Still, can't wait for next issue. |
