As you've probably seen in the news section already, we're getting a new anthology called DARK NIGHTS in June, and the first arc will be written and drawn by Lee Weeks!
Here's the solicit:

I had a chance to meet Mr. Weeks this past weekend at the Toronto Comicon and he had some photocopies of pages, and it looks great.
Who would you want on the title for the other arcs?
Jason Aaron and R.M.Guerra would be an interesting team. _________________ Kuljit Mithra

Wow this is going to be great. I love Lee Weeks Daredevil and I am really looking forward to this.
You're lucky you got to go to the show and meet him Kuljit. I waited in line awhile outside and was told that the con was sold out and I wasn't able to get in. I don't live in Toronto so I wasn't able to get there too early. I was looking forward to meeting him and I even brought issue #284 (his first drawn DD issue) and issue #293 for him to sign. Sigh.... oh well. |

I went to the show on Saturday as well and brought my whole family with me, including my cousin's whole family with kids and we were also told it was sold out. Needless to say, that was devestating to all the kids with me. We were told we could buy Sunday's wristband, so I bought two for myself and my son... so I dragged him all the way back on Sunday.
If you follow my Twitter feed @manwithoutfear, I posted some of the stuff I got from the show. If I get some time, I'll do a post here in the news section. _________________ Kuljit Mithra

I'm hoping Jeff Lemire and Jason Aaron for writers.
On art, Carlos Pacheco and Darwyn Cooke would be awesome i agree.
no Nick SPencer or Sam Humphries hopefully |

Brian K. Vaughan's new comic with Marcos Martin. Digital only, pay what you will. Has me convinced he'd make an amazing DD writer. |

Cooke writing and drawing a DD story would be sweet.
I'm more old-school though. Would like to see what veterans like Doug Moench and Chuck Dixon would do with Matt. It would be fun to see a new Mazzucchelli story. |

Writers? i'm not sure who... Mark Millar, perhaps. I'd be willing to let Andy Diggle have another go, just to see if he can handle DD without some kind of massive crossover story on his plate. Artists are another matter; I would like to see Frank Quitely, Fiona Staples, Sam Kieth, Alan Davis, and if Santa thinks I've been VERY good, Geof Darrow (these are just off the top of my head).
I am wondering what the tone of the book will be; gritty or swashbuckling? I hope that Marvel use the book to good effect, exploring other corners of Matt's world, not just using it to exploit a hot property.
Ron
P.S. Jimmy Palmiotti & Amanda Conner! (if they aren't exclusive to DC.) |
